This hotel is a botanical garden, lots of different plants, you casually encounter growing bananas, mangos, etc. The reception (and main restaurant) is in a huge multi-level dome with plants, small ponds and stone walls - it looks incredible. Food was amazing, the variety and quality was much better then most other hotels we've stayed before. Staff was friendly, but that's pretty much the standard now. What made it exceptional is that after showing us the room they offered to join the extra bed with ours (our 2yo child sleeps with us, so we didn't want a crib) and install a barrier on one side - after this we had a huge triple bed and were able to sleep comfortably (much better than at home). The pools aren't huge, but aren't small either. There is a separate pool for small children (50cm deep), but in the big one depth was increasing slowly, so our kid could go a few meters in before it started getting too deep. It also wasn't crowded (visiting mid-June) and sunbeds + umbrellas were plentiful and available at any time. Overall it was one of the best hotels we've stayed in and we didn't expect it to be THAT GOOD when we booked. Love Playa del Ingles, have been going here for about 25 years. If you want nightlife it is all there with plenty of restaurants and bars. If you just want a quiet holiday it is perfect for that too. Very nice town for family holiday, you can find all you want, hotels, beaches, restaurants, markets, palms, there are interesting places close to town, like Palmitos Park, harbour in Puerto Rico, Poema del Mar in Las Palmas. I first visited Puerto Rico when I was 19 ....I am now 61 and have been a regular visitor throughout. In fact I lived there for 12 years and owned an apartment for 15 years. Possibly my opinion is biased, but having visited all the other Canarian islands, I would say that the area between Melanores and Mogan offers most things to most people, and as Puerto Rico is the centre of that area, its quite simply a great place to base your holiday - I for one will always return !Guest review bymarkUnited Kingdom - 8.0

This is a quiet, relaxing and friendly town.
This is a quiet, relaxing and friendly town. There is a wide variety of restauants with friendly staff and also a very good array of shops. The town features dining on the beachfront and in the harbour area. There are lots of couples and young families. It is not rowdy or noisy. There is a fabulous viewing point above the town and a very well connected public bus system. It is an hour from the airport and costs just under 7 euro one way. The bus stops are clearly marked on arrival in Las Palmas airport and the small bus station is just five minutes walk from the beach in Peurto de Mogan.Guest review byLeeUnited Kingdom - 2.0
