From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was on another level. Check-in was a breeze, with a welcome drink of our choice while we relaxed outside, soaking in the breathtaking beach view. Our room, the Superior Room, was nothing short of incredible—modern, fresh, and with an ocean view that completely blew us away. Sitting in the evening, watching the waves roll in, or catching the sunrise was simply magical—these moments quickly became the highlight of our stay. If you have the option, I highly recommend booking one of these rooms; the experience is worth it! The hotel itself is stylishly decorated, with every corner reflecting a blend of comfort and elegance. Breakfast each morning was fantastic, with a wide variety of options, including plenty for vegans and vegetarians. Seeing scrambled tofu at the buffet was a delightful surprise, and it’s clear the hotel puts a lot of thought into catering to all guests. We especially loved the little touches, like being able to log into our Netflix account on the room TV—perfect for winding down after a day at the beach. The gym was compact but equipped with everything you need for a good workout. But what truly made our stay unforgettable was the service. Everyone was friendly and attentive, but Borja deserves a special mention. His level of care and commitment to his guests is something you rarely come across. He genuinely made us feel like VIPs, always checking in to make sure everything was perfect. It’s clear that Borja loves what he does, and it shows in every interaction. A special thank you also to Jenny, who was always warm and welcoming. The entire team went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We can't wait to return!

A firm favorite among sun-seekers, Majorca (or Mallorca) is the largest Balearic Island. Palma, the enchanting capital, has a grand cathedral overlooking the harbor, a 14th-century castle and Arab baths, to name just a few highlights. Nearby is Palma Nova, home to lots of Majorca hotels on the beach within easy reach of the fantastic nightlife in Magaluf. Further along are calmer Santa Ponsa and Port d’Andratx. In the opposite direction, S’Arenal has a fantastic, palm-lined beach and quick airport shuttle rides. On the north side of the island, the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Serra de Tramuntana range features amazing mountain lakes. A trip to its highest peak, Puig Major, will provide breathtaking views. Down below is Port de Soller, a lovely town with some excellent Majorca hotels for families. Other popular family resorts include Alcudia with its long sandy beach, and neighboring Port de Pollenca. Ruins of the Roman town of Pollentia are nearby. In the east, Cala Ratjada benefits from 2 beautiful coastlines, while the beaches at Cala Bona and Cala Millor certainly live up to their names – Good and Best. Cala d’Or (Golden Cove) is another aptly named resort: its golden, sandy beach is nestled between rocks lapped by turquoise waters.     Really close to the beach, had a nice swimming pool, with freezing water (quite nice after a few minutes in). Room was good, and breakfast was also really good. Large selection of food available. And really close to main streets in the area. Who wants to have a quiet location to spend some nice time under the sun, take some nice walks by the sea shore and enjoy a nice view and a clean water, this is the place to be.

    Beautiful city with an abundance of bars, restaurants, cafes & shops. Mercat de Santa Catalina & Mercat de L'Olivar incredible for small early bites along with a glass of beer or wine. Bar Dia & Cafe C'an Toni particular favourites for both tapas & main meals. For coffee lovers, both Arabay in Placa Mayor & Nano Coffee in the city centre do incredible coffee. La Catedral is a must visit & a trip to Castell de Bellver well worth it as well for the views of outside Palma. Wandering all over Santa Catalina a great highlight for small street with local cafes, bakeries & street art to be seen. Excellent bus service throughout the city if it's too warm to be walking everywhere.

The only major drawback is that the hotel feels more like a “mini Germany,” since it’s a very popular holiday spot for German travelers. If you’re hoping for something that feels more local, just keep that in mind.

    I had three days of holiday, and I just wanted to go to the warm sea and take my child to the water park. That's why I chose El Arenal, because it's quite close to the airport and the water park, and I didn't have to waste time travelling. The main advantage of the city is, of course, the sea. But you have to be very careful here. I saw local thieves trying to steal things from holidaymakers at the sea or goods from shops more than once. Another unpleasant thing was that there was a persistent smell of urine in the narrow streets near the promenade, even though the streets were washed by the owners of shops and cafes. But this is most likely the fault of tourists who walked around at night.

    Magaluf is a great destination for those who enjoy nightlife and clubbing – there are plenty of bars and clubs to choose from, offering something for everyone. You'll also find large supermarkets and a wide variety of good restaurants. However, I wouldn’t recommend it for a romantic getaway, as it's more lively and party-oriented. It’s a convenient base for exploring the southern part of Mallorca and is close to Palma. Renting a car on the island is easy and can be done at affordable prices.

    Typical Spanish tourist town.

    Typical Spanish tourist town. Plenty of good bars and restaurants, some with live music. Would of like it to be a bit more boutique'y and a little less Spanish/British bucket and spade. So not a lot to see, unless you like these very typical Spanish beach resorts. But overall good for a short break.

    We stayed at Hotel Illusion Calma where Staff are really welcoming & helpful. Great variety & quality of food at both breakfast & dinner. We had a lovely corner room with balcony over pool, beds & pillows very comfy and housekeeping excellent. Location is so good, beach just a few minutes walk away & you can also walk along the coast all the way to Palma, fabulous! Can Pastille has lovely mix of locals who seem very happy to be surrounded by tourists All inclusive is fantastic value.

    Cala d'Or is an OK resort.Good for young children . No authentic Spanish influence, very Brits or German abroad. Sorry to say a bit tacky and parts of the resort needs renovating and cleaning up.

    The staff across the hotel were always courteous / smiling...

    The staff across the hotel were always courteous / smiling and made that important position that we were 'On Holiday'. Even the smaller problems were always dealt with promptly by your staff - and they never 'forgot' any of our questions!

    I enjoyed Cala Millor, it’s a pleasant area, but if your goal is to explore the island and visit other places, I would recommend staying somewhere more central. Cala Millor is quite far from most of the main attractions, including other beautiful beaches, which makes travelling around tiring and time-consuming.
