FAQs about hotels in Tenerife
Fun and Sun All Year Round
The largest of the Canary Islands, Tenerife has sun, sand and sangria all year round. Its landscape is dominated by volcanic Mount Teide, a UNESCO World Heritage Site whose peak is covered by snow. There are fabulous views over Tenerife and the surrounding islands from the cable car that takes you up.
However, most visitors flock to the island for its beaches. The most exclusive area is Costa Adeje, home to most 5-star hotels in Tenerife. It also houses Aqualand waterpark with waterslides, pools and a dolphinarium, while next door Playa de las Americas boasts Siam Park – Europe’s largest waterpark.
This resort is the island’s party capital and features a large number of Tenerife hotels with swimming pools, and a wealth of bars and restaurants. Adjoining Los Cristianos also has a long, sandy beach.
The southern Tenerife beaches are actually artificial, made from white sand imported from the Sahara Desert, because the natural ones are black sand. Tenerife resorts with just such a beach include Puerto de la Cruz and Los Gigantes, which is dramatically sheltered by sheer cliffs.
The capital – Santa Cruz – is the arrival point for ferries from the other Canaries and has a huge, annual carnival. Wherever you decide to stay, check out the Tenerife hotel deals on Booking.com.

- From $169.32 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very Good - What previous guests thought, 4,969 reviewsWe were allocated room 323 on the ground floor. It turned out to be a very large studio apartment, with an equally large, wheelchair-accessible en suite bathroom and a spacious (raised) terrace with a lovely garden view and (partial) sea view. The apartment appeared to have been recently refurbished and re-equipped to a high standard. Our double bed (conjoined twins) was both commodious and comfortable. The blackout blinds were highly effective. Although, our room wasn't air-conditioned, it did have a large ceiling fan over the bed, which we didn't need to use (our stay was in January). Although we didn't use it, the aparthotel's huge seawater pool looked great. Housekeeping changed both the towels and bed sheets half way through our weeklong stay, on the date that the friendly, male receptionist told us they would at check-in. We received a telephone call from his female colleague about an hour later to check that all was in order with our room, which it was. So top marks to both the reception and housekeeping teams!Guest review bySean O'RIreland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.3Good - What previous guests thought, 982 reviewsAfter reading so many bad reviews about Los Olivos we were worried about this place. But it EXEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS and it was a pleasent surprise! Everything was perfect! First of all the check in was at 03.00 pm but they gave us the room earlier without extra charges, that was realy nice after such a long trip we were exhausted, after that we enjoyed free welcoming drinks at Margaritas rooftop. The room was large and bright, all the facilities we needed were already in the room. The location was perfect- close to the beach and restaurants. Beds were very comfortable, the room was super clean and there was a large balcony, qute place for a good night rest. We were stayng only 1 nigt but we made a reservation for another 3 nights! See you soon Los Olivos :)Guest review bySterijaNorth Macedonia
- From $493.53 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 2,165 reviewsThe staff was super nice, helpful, attentive, effective and friendly. Tons of care went into customizing our experience to our liking, down to the choice of daily chocolate left at our bed. The Vila Solarium is amazing in both looks and amenities and is totally worth the price for a special occasion. The hotel is perfect for all-day stays. There's hardly any reason to leave it for more than a short trip to a zoo or water park. The cocktails are simply awesome and the buffet at both breakfast and dinner is very diverse with skilled grillmen preparing omletes, fish, seafood and meats to your exact liking. The pools are splendid, as are the sunbeds and king-size beds next to them.Guest review byYoavoIsrael

It's perfect for city tourism—it's pleasant and interesting to stroll around, and the architecture is beautiful. There are plenty of good restaurants with excellent food; we didn't have time to visit everything we wanted in a week. The downside is the many ups and downs, which can be a problem for those with limited mobility. I definitely recommend spending one day visiting Loro Parque.Guest review byKatrin OstBelarus - 8.0

Great area with plenty going on while also having quieter spots. Plenty of places to eat drink and shop in. Several beautiful beaches and walks along the coast to either Los Cristianos or in the other direction to Adeje. Our 3rd time there and we noticed and were aware of a bit more crime going on in the area and felt we had to be just a bit more vigilant this time, wouldn't stop us going back though. Very very very easy to get your hands on any type of drugs, wouldn't have to go looking as you get asked by people while out walking, day or night!!! Wasn't as obvious the previous times we were there.Guest review byPaulaIreland - 2.0
This has been a terrible experience staying in this house at...
This has been a terrible experience staying in this house at KARAT Atico Siam Skies. It started with 2 air conditioners not working and they brought 3 new portable ones and they were so loud that we couldn't sleep or use them. This had a very bad effect on those who had to sleep in these rooms. Little sleep and woke up with headaches etc. The sunbeds were very poor and we had to buy air mattresses to make them more comfortable. The garage door wouldn't close unless we used all our strength and pushed it to close. We were supposed to stay for 10 days but gave up after 7 days and went to a hotel which cost us a lot because only the most expensive room was available. We looked at a lot of other hotels but everything was very expensive. The elevator took 90 seconds to go up and 90 seconds to go down. We complained about this but nothing could be done to fix it. The house is very crooked and has a lot of broken tiles and cracks in the walls I am also interested in taking the matter further to get a refund for this. We have suffered damage because of their mistake As I write this, something definitely comes from them that they found this annoying and did everything in their power to accommodate us in all this which is not true at all.Guest review bySigurdur Kr SigurdssonIceland - 6.0
Santa Cruz de Tenerife doesn’t have much of nightlife,...
Santa Cruz de Tenerife doesn’t have much of nightlife, almost everything was closed at 21:30-22:00 and there were no people outside either we were on the center of the town or near the plaza. BUT, The island in general is worth it. If you can get outside and go see other towns - villages, it is definitely worth it and be prepared for breathtaking sights, views and amazing monuments. There are a lot sightseeings worth visiting, but Santa Cruz de Tenerife on its own is just not worth it that much (and the parking there is literally impossible)Guest review bykostastsoukkGreece - 10.0
Los Cristianos is a great place for couples especially.
Los Cristianos is a great place for couples especially. Lots of cafes and restaurants for drinks and for a great meal. Plenty of choices and prices are reasonable. You can walk for miles around and there are lovely views when you walk towards Las Americas. Some areas looking a little scruffy at the moment but there is work being done and new paving being laid and it looks very nice. Be wary of staying in the higher areas as walking up and down the hill may be difficult. Beaches are very good Excellent for families. You can’t beat a day on the beach then a cocktail on the way back . Bus are fantastic and cheap get a Bono card at the kiosk at the bus station and put 10-20Euros on it and you can get to Las America, further in Adeje to Fanabe Del Duque and Caletta is beautiful. You can have a fun holiday hereGuest review byCOLETTEUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Situated in Golf Del Sur - it's pretty much an ex-pat community comprised mainly of the British. If you want nightlife, then this isn't the place for you. There are quite a few bars and restaurants around the place, but better to take a stroll down to San Blas or Los Abrigos for more options. It's one junction down from the airport, so if you don't like aircraft noise, then again, this isn't for you. It's peaceful, usually quite windy, which is good when it's hot!Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Puerto de Santiago is a very lovely and quiet town, perfect for those who prefer peaceful places over busy tourist spots. It has everything you need for a relaxing stay – shops, cafés, and all the essential amenities. I especially recommend Café Am Eck – a wonderful place with great atmosphere and delicious food. The Playa de la Arena beach is beautiful and well-maintained. Puerto de Santiago is located on the western coast of Tenerife, and that’s part of its magic – you can enjoy breathtaking sunsets as the sun slowly disappears into the ocean, with a stunning view of La Gomera island on the horizon.Guest review byLIUDMYLAUkraine - 10.0

The city consists of three parts. The historic part with beautiful and charming streets. The villa part with beautiful gardens, trees, houses, and the part where people live tightly and where the most is happening. Lots of street culture, lots of cultural attractions. Lots of opportunities for good food.Guest review byDariuszPoland - 10.0

El Medano is totally different than the other more common tourist centres further up the coast. Aimed for surfing types, wind/foil/kite and more. Enough nice restaurants and cafes for local food. No late night life but Fri and Saturdays are usually still lively. Beaches pristine and can walk for kms. Have to mention the wind, as it's almost always blowing, but that's what draws the surfers.Guest review byArlo ParkerUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We love living and hiking in the quiet hinterland few miles North, up the hills and away from the water front in LC and LA, yet we also love swiming the ocean at the truly great playas (Camison, Duque, Las Vistas etc.) and walking the Golden Mile when it's not over-crowded. Golf fans have a decent green ready to play, one of the greenest area of Arona/Adeje. Hike to Vilaflor and Canadas, take a ferry to Gomera, go to a folk fest in the village... 10s of options open Excellent frutas y verduras, fresh fish (e.g. tra the local tuna bonito doradas etc.), quesos fresco (e.g., try those young unsalted semi-curados, requeson, greek yougurts etc.) Some shots across time https://photos.app.goo.gl/QeehuXuu7jjoBk719 https://goo.gl/photos/fwhJ12q6zSKSjTCT8 Overall great, limited only by time, imagination, energy and funds.Guest review byMitchellSpain
