Staying in the Jewish Quarter was great as it was away from the main tourist crowds . The main square is very busy with buses driving through, We discovered an amazing spot for tapas- Taverna Botero. Extraordinary tapas with excellent service- enjoyed eating there 3 days in a row. An early morning walk along the river bank is a great way to view the beauty of the ancient stone walls towering above.Guest review byEdwardAustralia - 8.0

Clearly Talavera de la Reina was of significant importance in the past, but it has been marred by signs of urban decay and high unemployment levels. Still, it is worth a look to appreciate the lessons that history is constantly trying to teach us.Guest review byAnneSpain - 8.0

Incredible place to see the windmills and the castle on the hill and to discover the history. But.... depending on the time of the year and the night of the week you may find no restaurants/cafes/food options open in town. Google maps advised services were open only to arrive and nothing was open. There are 2 supermarkets to pick up supplies so be prepared to cook your own food.Guest review byDeanAustralia - 8.0

Looks like a good golf course but we did not have time to play it. Just remember evening meal is only available Thursday to Sunday, then you have to drive back to 2 villages for an evening meal. Breakfast was excellent.Guest review byGillianUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Ocaña was a convenient place to stay for an overnight on the road between southern Spain and the Basque Country. The main plaza is large, and the town was pleasant to walk around. We found a good restaurant for an early dinner.Guest review byMiriamFrance - 8.0
Do your research in advance.
Do your research in advance. Jewish quarter , Christian heritage, some Muslim heritage but no 20th century coverage. Forget the hop bus and take mini train instead, better info. Mostly walkable but quite hilly, not for wheelchairs.Guest review byMaryIreland - 10.0

The windmills were the main attraction and it was great that parking was available for those unable to climb the hills. We also quite enjoyed eating at El Gaudy Restaurant pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food, it’s presentation and for a great price!Guest review byMary ElizabethSpain - 6.0
Toledo seemed to have less outdoor eating/drinking places...
Toledo seemed to have less outdoor eating/drinking places than there were in Segovia which we also visited. I think this was perhaps due to the fact that buildings are so tightly packed together compared to Segovia. Its still very much worth a visit but perhaps three rather than four nights.Guest review byMarkUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Consuegra is a good location to visit the windmills and...
Consuegra is a good location to visit the windmills and castle above the town and they are very well worth a visit. There is not a great deal of choice of hotels in the town and with the benefit of hindsight I would have visited the windmills and castle in the morning and then had lunch near the Plaza España at restaurant Gaudy which is absolutely terrific. There are very few bars in Consuegra and the only 2 we found did not open until 20.00 hours or later in the evening. While there are a good number of restaurants open for lunch they are mainly closed in the evenings, certainly during the week. To sum up, make it a day visit and stay somewhere else.Guest review byAlexanderUnited Kingdom
