Dating back to the 1800s, this charming manor is found in the Finnish Lake District, 7 km from Mikkeli. It offers an award-winning restaurant and elegant rooms with garden views. Breakfast at Tertti, at least until now, is the best Breakfast I had in all my life. So exquisite, fresh, and rich. Salmon, different sort of breads, butter, scrambled eggs (special made), different sorts of fish, different sorts of cheese, and much more, the majority of this treats, elaborated by them, at the Kartano (country house in Finnish). Special mention for Tertti's special Porridge which is from another world, so yummy, just for that, its is worth to pay a visit to this establishment. Staff is very kind, helpful, they make you feel as you would be at home, from the receptionists, the waitresses, the gardener, to the owner, who has been so helpful, giving us extra information about our interests on Finland, and always being concerned about our wellbeing. It is located not far away from Mikkeli, a reasonable size city, and at a stone throw of huge forests and lakes.

Bomila Resort features accommodation in Joroinen. With a terrace, the 5-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. Breakfast is served at the Golfclub for additional charge. The restaurant is open 7-17, so do not expect to have dinner there. But they serve some beer and snacks till 21. The kitchen was good equipped so you can buy some food and have it in your cabin. There is no oven or dishwasher, but everything else you may need. The place is very new, they supposed to have 9 cabines, there are 5 right now. It is comfortable and new and a very nice view of the golf course.

Olo Center by Kolovesi Nature Park has a fitness centre, garden, a private beach area and shared lounge in Enonkoski. Boasting a shared kitchen, this property also provides guests with a terrace. A super charming house with the most comfortable atmosphere and really good vibes. The rooms are cozy and you can feel the hosts love for details. The dinner and the breakfast were a blast, with regional products, mainly from their own garden, only. We would highly recommend this place. It’s not a hotel or hostel, it’s an experience.

Set in Sulkava, 38 km from Savonlinna Train Station, Tiittalan Kartano offers accommodation with free bikes, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge. The breakfast was incredibly good. We absolutely loved waffles and karelian pies. The friendly service left very pleasant impression.

It's a charming place altogether with seemingly many things to do during the Summer season. It's also a short driving distance to many hiking spots and local attractions.
