This hotel exceeded my expectations. I spent a two nights in a 244 euros a night hotel in Bordeaux earlier this month and this Kyriad was a better experience room wise - and parking was free as opposed to an additional 60 euros. I did not eat in the restaurant but it looked comfortable and the menu was appealing. I did not have breakfast but will next time as they serve a full English breakfast.

it was tucked away in a quieter neighborhood but an easy walk to the town. The staff were lovely and very helpful with restaurant suggestions and anything else we needed. the room was very clean and well designed for comfort.

The attention to detail by the friendly and helpful owner. The room and bed were super comfortable, clean and spacious. Breakfast was the best i have had at any hotel.     The buildings, history and general vibe of this city is wonderful. Good food can be found at a reasonable price. Explore the city easily by tram. Evidence of social disadvantage and associated crime, not too worrying but worth remaining vigilant. Accomodation is reasonable in price and quality. I wouldn't hire a car, unless I was going to explore the surrounding wine districts. Saint Emilion, a world heritage UNESCO site is a short distance away.

    Plenty of places to visit choice of restaurants and bars, transport system good plus great value. We could have used a bus from airport and change in Biarritz to our appartment location sourcing that info easily would be a benefit

    Bayone is a very historic city in the French side of the Basque Country. The old town is charming with plenty of chocolate shops. Saturday all the shops are open but Sunday the town is shut down so plan accordingly. We visited the Basque museum on Sunday - well worth a visit.

    Unfortunately, I was only here for a weekend trip, and I didn't have time to visit many of the local sights. A lovely area, especially if you like hiking. Biarritz is a 90 minute drive away and, of course, the Pyrenees are only a few hours drive away, too.

    A beautiful French town that is worth spending a few days.

    A beautiful French town that is worth spending a few days. Lots of great restaurants and local shopping. The French people are very warm, friendly and always willing to help. Most of the towns to visit surrounding Sarlat were 15 to 30 minutes away. Saturday market days are wonderful, filled with vendors, farmers, and shop owners on every street. The town is a perfect central location to the Dordogne Valley region.

    We loved the town, we enjoyed the variety of shops and restaurants. The beach was awesome. We visited Dune Pilat, climbed to the top and were astounded by the views. We would have liked to see much more of the area but our time was short. It was a taste that left us wanting to savour much much more, hopefully soon.

    Saint-Jean-de-Luz is a very pleasant little town on the South-west coast of France. Its beach is nicely sheltered from the wild Bay of Biscay, making it safe and attractive. We stayed in a central hotel with easy access to some lovely bars and restaurants serving delicious local cuisine. It's an easy drive into the countryside; we climbed a mountain called Larrun, part of the Pyrenees, then easily back to St Jean de Luz for a swim and out for dinner! Also some good local shops.

    We know the area and were primarily there to visit a friend. We were on a budget so had to use public transport, which turned out to be super easy to use. You can pay with cash or bank card directly on the bus (you can only buy one ticket with a bank card, however) or you can buy a loaded card with ten tickets (which you can use for more than one person) at machines at train stations, principal stops and tobacconists. Timetables are given at bus stops and are accurate. Make sure you know when the public holidays are, as these affect public transport considerably. The bus journey to Biarritz station is less than half an hour (depending on the route they take) and from there you can travel quickly and inexpensively to St Jean de Luz, Bayonne and elsewhere. The three towns I have mentioned are so close by, yet so contrasting and are all worth a visit. The number 36 bus (a little further away from the apartment - maybe 8-10 mins walk) give you access to beaches up the coast, like La Madrague. I used Google Maps a lot and found its advise re: public transport super helpful. My teenage girls loved the frothy hot chocolate at Chez Cazenave in Bayonne, https://www.chocolats-bayonne-cazenave.fr/4-nos-chocolats. On our last night, we ate at Casa Juan Pedro, http://casajuanpedro.com/en/home, in Biarrtiz's old port. They were welcoming, and the food was delicious and simply presented (our party includes seafood enthusiasts and picky eaters).
