After driving for 5 hours, we arrived at the hotel around noon, with the wedding scheduled for 2 p.m. Since we wanted to freshen up before the event, we asked the hotel in advance if it would be possible to have our room ready earlier than the usual check-in time. They responded quickly through Booking.com, reassuring us that they would do their best to accommodate us. Even if the room wasn’t ready upon arrival, they kindly offered to let us use the spa facilities to change and shower. When we arrived, they kept their promise — our room was ready on time, and we were able to head to the wedding feeling refreshed and in great condition. We are very grateful to the hotel staff for their excellent service. The room was spotless, the hotel was close to the beach, and the surroundings were incredible. Friendly and picturesque neighbourhood, with great little local shops and well-stocked small supermarket on the way to the enormous beach. Beach has lots of options for wind-sports hire, and other water activities. The beach cafes looked nice. Easy going, obviously some money around, a casino further down the prom. Almost exclusively French visitors and residents when we were there in mid-July. Appartment right next to train station, for easy SNCF to adjoining towns and Nantes. Honestly, this is just not ok in 2025. I sleep about 160 nights per year in a hotel, normally 3 stars. F1 after their refurbishments is simply better. Wherever I go in "premiere classe", it's always like: "animals might just sleep here but not us". INVEST guys, how this chain survives, I don't know. Don't be mistaken, just a low price is not enough to survive. Knowing your business is, and that is never the case, in whatever "hotel" of them you sleep. Personally, this is my refuge when I need to sleep and have no other, more human options. All depending of my routing. Just do something, enjoy your business, make a proud company for owners and employees. Either the hotel chain doesn't have any money to invest or they don't want to. Either way, this goes bust one day as I strongly believe, after at least 10 years with, thank God, maximum 10 nights in this chain, will never happen.Guest review byJeroenFrance - 10.0

This was our first time on this coastline, so did not know what to expect. Pornic exceeded our expectations. The harbour is surrounded by numerous restaurants and café bars with a range of prices. We found a regular venue for our coffee and tried several restaurants for evening meals. Good value for money! We found the locals very helpful. They did not find our lack of French language an inconvenience and attempted to communicate with us. We visited several of the surrounding beaches. They were not overcrowded and had good facilities. I went to the Nantes Atlantic Airport a few times to take a plane but I don't really know the area. In general, the area around the Nantes Atlantic Airport is an industry area, car parks, warehouses. It is not a pleasant place to walk around. The airport is so small and nearly couldn't handle the demand of people or it only lacks of good management. I believe that they are going to build a new airport, bigger, more modern very soon. We go there because we could have a direct flight to a few destinations from there. The long term car park is at reasonable price. All this makes our trips well time managed. There could be some pleasant places to visit but I am not aware of. And you need to have a car. The connections between Nantes City Centre and the airport is still confusing. And there should be paid navette serving the Airport and the near by beautiful areas. So the travellers without transport could have more choices of hotels instead of paying a high price to the rare few hotels opposite the airport. Pornichet offers a good mix of beaches, a vast, wide sandy beach for swimming, sunbathing and watersports as well as a slightly wilder beach for rock pooling etc. There are sailing events at the Marina as well as a mixture of other events throughout the year. This Chambre D'hote is only about 400 yards from the medieval centre of this small town which has a good choice of restaurants, bars and shops, as well as interesting historical buildings. Our hosts were really helpful in pointing out all the numerous attractions in the town and in the surrounding area. There are plenty places to walk or cycle, the beach is not far and we loved a trip on the marais on a flat bottomed boat. We saw a lot of wildfife and our leader told us local history of the area. For us it was a great find as we hadn't visited this area before. We had 3 nights here which felt just right. We did a walking tour on day 1 and the following day we visited Les Machines de I’ll. On our final day we walked around le Jardin des Plantes. We had lots of good food and drink along the way and would definitely recommend Chez Maman for good food and quirky decor.
