From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the impeccable hospitality and professionalism of the staff. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, making us feel as though we had stepped into an episode of Downton Abbey. The champagne was exquisite, perfectly complementing the enchanting ambiance of the château. Both dining experiences exceeded our expectations. L’Orangerie provided a Michelin-star-worthy dinner that was a true culinary masterpiece, while the other restaurant offered equally remarkable cuisine with refined flavors and presentation. Breakfast was an experience in itself—abundant, fresh, and absolutely worth it. It provided the perfect start to our day, ensuring we were well-prepared for exploring the beautiful Champagne region. Once you have done "your classics in Reims" from the...

Once you have done "your classics in Reims" from the Cathedral to Champagne tasting ... I went the " Boulingrin quarter" of Reims .. the "Market Place " .. with a gorgeous French atmosphere and really nice restaurants ... from Brasserie to Gastronomy choices .. or just strolling and have an excellent croissant breakfast.

Lots of great Champagne houses to visit, large and small. Some require reservations, but many, especially smaller ones, are good for dropping in on, and have a tasting and a chat on the history of the house, champagne production process, and just good old small talk.. Very lovely town, not too big to be overwhelming, not too small to get boring quickly, just right. If you have a car, 3-4 full days can be easily filled with fun activities, all within either 20 min walking, or 20 min driving (some gorgeous vistas not to be missed)

We stopped overnight on the long drive between Calais and the South of France. It was our first time in Chalons-en-Champagne and it was raining. So we didn't see it at its best but the historic centre is lovely with a mix of half-timbered building and the sort of grand architecture you would expect in a town built on champagne money. The area around the town hall in particular has some interesting bars and restaurants. We stayed in a self-catering apartment and bought our evening meal at a traiteur. Due to the rain, we didn't want to go our again.

If you want to visit the cathedral of Notre Dame( which is beautiful) you need to check times and festival dates. It certainly is worth visiting. Our hotel was a 10 min drive in but plenty of paid parking on roads. The cathedral city has beautiful parks and lovely restaurants which come alive at night. A good city break for two nights.

Small french Town with lots of history about champagne.

Small french Town with lots of history about champagne. Well manicured with gorgeous hanging baskets and a well guided walk through and around town that takes a leasurly hour. Sit and relax with the worlds best champagne in a restaurant or if you book in advance walk a very short distance to visit the best champagne houses for tasting. A great experience in itself!

Great location close to Epernay but set in beautiful surroundings. The accommodation was good, very big comfy bed and clean. The downside was that the step coming out of the shower was badly damaged and actually dangerous.

Lovely Chateau in the Champagne region, idyllic setting, very tranquil. Food in the main restaurant was excellent. Ideal for our 25th Anniversary. The cost is a little high but you get what you pay for.

It is a quiet village but has a large number of small champagne houses offering tasting opportunities. It does not have a large selection of restaurants but does have a great delicatessen offering sharing platters and great wine. You can easily walk to Épernay and there is a train service to Reims. So a great location to explore the champagne region
