For the smallness of the chalet (cabin), it was quite comfortable without feeling cramped. The resteraunt is very good, but is limited on selections. Breakfast is worth the price too. Peak season in La Bresse is probably in winter, but summer stays are equally attractive especially for people who like nature and hiking in the beautiful mountains. There are several possibilities on how to access Route de Cretes which provide access to all hiking locations. Munster is a nice town with lots of interesting places to visit. Of course this attracts many tourists, therefore avoid going there on the weekend. A good point to start is at the tourist information where you will find brochures in different languages and very friendly staff patiently explaining everything you ask them. A quiet town with some nice shops (a good Vinotheque, Librairie, Boulangerie) and a nice church, lovely views of hills, a good point to explore Alsace further. La Bresse is a picturesque small French town with all the facilities you would expect (supermarket, bakeries, butchers, swimming pool etc.). The ski area is a c. 10 minute drive from La Bresse. There is a ski bus to and from the town but we did not use it and did not see others using it, but were assured that it did exist! The ski area is perfect for beginners and early intermediates looking to build confidence. More experienced skiers would probably be frustrated by the limited area (only one black run).
