Ermenonville is a pretty village/small town convenient for Charles de Gaulle airport and visiting southern Picardy. Adults enjoyed the medieval town of Senlis and children had a good time at La mer de Sable, a smaller sized theme park ideal for kids between 5 and 10.
Cathedral was stunning. The jules verne museum and the picardy museum were pleasant. Didn't manage to see the market gardens or Battle of Somme sights unfortunately. Liked the shopping around Gambatta.
Small walled city just north of Paris, easy to walk around and admire historic buildings and gardens - roses of Picardy scrambling up walls.
The Cathedral both externally and internally was one of the finest and most absorbing that I experienced from travelling widely across Europe. The guide of what to see inside was excellent which made the viewing of the inside of the Cathedral particularly rewarding. Some very interesting architecture in the old town and main streets. Excellent base for visiting the Somme Valley and Picardy.
We used the town as a base to visit family locally in Picardy and to visit First World War graves. Pleasant eating places - very friendly!
This side of picardy is a great place to be if you love narure. A lot of differnt birds around to spot and a lot of beautiful walks to be made.
Lovely friendly place. Not over run with too many tourist as at St Valery up the road. Lovely steam train for a day out and you can see seals of shore. An Ideal place to travel around Picardy
It is a good centre but also adelightful place to visit with lots to see and fo. We visited Parc Martquenterre and saw amazing birds. The museum of Picardy was fascinating and the mini golf was great fun. Lots of good restaurants at excellent prices.
A lovely town, easy drive from Calais. Great to just wander around the streets Unfortunately it rained the entire day I was there (last year had five days sunshine). I would not particularly recommend the Picardy Museum except as somewhere to go to get out of the rain. Visit the little Garden in the middle of town if weather permits.
Considering Amiens was shelled in both the first and second world wars it is amazing how much of the earlier architecture has survived. The cathedral has to be the most impressive in France and the surrounding countryside along the Somme is beautiful. Unfortunately our visit coincided with both the Picardy History museum and the Bernay fine art museum being shut for redevelopment (due to reopen in summer 2019?). We ate in a couple of good restaurants - Ozmos was great as was Le Auberge Le Pre Porus (under new Management) out in Les Hortilonages. The food at Le Quai was ok but very poor service. We were blessed with hot sunny weather for our whole trip so not sure how we would have perceived Amiens in the cold and wet! The journey down the D road from Calais via Hesdin to Amiens was a fantastic drive through beautiful unspoiled countryside and the traffic was incredibly light compared to Kent! This part of France is well worth exploring and so close to home. Let’s hope Brexit doesn’t affect our future relations with the French!

Fairytale small chateau deep in the woods and fields of Picardy, ten miles from Laon and its cathedral. Beautiful flock of tame Reeves Pheasants (yellow, white, black and red) wandering round the chateau grounds. Our suite was eccentric but spacious, shoehorned into the eaves and with the bathroom (giant bath!) in an octagonal tower. Fine cuisine beautifully presented. Fairly priced for what it is - an excellent stopover for long distance travellers, about 2 hours from Calais.

It was a lovely warm, clean & comfortable apartment. The warmth was much appreciated as the weather was unseasonably arctic! Marie-Jeanne was lovely and took the trouble to make a welcome call. She also generously left gifts of eggs and Picardy terrine. Very friendly and welcoming lady.

We requested the evening meal and wine - delicious home made food for Picardy. Garden is excellent fun and has to be explored! And a great dog to play ball with! Bedroom was pretty and comfortable. Lovely hosts. All in all a pleasant place to rest and stay.

I can't rate this property too highly. We have stayed here twice. The hosts are lovely, the accommodation is spotless and the location is great for exploring Amiens and Picardy. We will be returning

The comfort, size as well as general quality of our lodge totally exceeded our expectations. The bed is very comfy, there is a very big bath tub as well as a lovely shower. The living room area is very spacious with a lovely view of the garden, trees as well as the sun lounge and jacuzzi area. The jacuzzi is amazing. All in all, the lodge was wonderful. Within close proximity of the cliffs as well as the walk down to the water. Within walking distance of the hotel as well. Just do not dine at the hotel restaurant. The food and views are great, but the restaurant waiters and waitresses are SHOCKING. Worst service I've ever encountered.

Very clean, comfortable beds and decent sized rooms. 2 lifts meant an upstairs flat was fine for my 93 year old mother who uses a walker and there was disabled parking. Great view of the pretty houses across the street while the flats at the back only overlooked the carpark. When the dishwasher stopped working it was looked at first thing next day and then replaced on the same visit. Friendly helpful staff.
