This town is a gem - the real France and away from the tourist beat. Its cathedral is unique and exceptionally old. A little French is a help here. Very good and inexpensive restaurants. Take the Little tour train for a great orientation.Guest review byTarr-Whelan - 10.0

Excellent Michelin restaurant Beau Site offered juicy lamb cut for Euro 34 and cod loin for euro 19. Service was also first class, balcony view was to die for. This is a pilgrim site where the priest will give stamp for pilgrims who have walked the Santiago de Compostela. There is also the stations of the cross on the mountain behindGuest review byPang - 10.0
Where we stayed was a restored castle.
Where we stayed was a restored castle. It was wonderful inside. The staff were very helpful. The part of town we stayed in was quaint and very walkable. I would have loved to stay longer. We ate at a small Crepery that was right around the corner. You have to be there early and make reservations. We did it online and almost didn't get in. The food was good.Guest review byBrendaUnited States - 10.0

We were there on July 14th and enjoyed a concert and the most impressive fireworks we have ever seen. Soullac is a lovely town with a good vibe and interesting sites to see around it. Don't miss the Grottes de Lacave!Guest review byCharlotteNew Zealand - 10.0
Moissac is a small town with a big and important abbey.
Moissac is a small town with a big and important abbey. We loved the relaxed atmosphere (eg free parking), the covered market open in the morning with fresh produce, the restaurants and cafes in near to the abbey. We also enjoyed a free concert in the abbey itself after a downpour ended chances of an outdoor performance. We found the people friendly and helpful. There are a range of eating options and a lovely walk along the canal. Moissac is also a good place from which to explore the surrounding area including bastides, some of which are virtually tourist-free (at least when we visited).Guest review byAndrewUnited Kingdom - 6.0
We visited Gramat in the spring and the weather was dull.
We visited Gramat in the spring and the weather was dull. The town appeared run down in areas with not much going for it. There were some good restaurants. The animal park is worth a visit. The aqua park didn’t have clear information about opening times. Close enough for other attractions and towns to visit. Rocamadour is close by. Plage de Gluges 15/20 minutes. Carannac Aventure for canoë and paddle board hire with a lovely crazy golf and snack bar 20 minutes.Guest review bySACUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Beautiful room and terrace opening on to vineyard, with view across to Saint Cirq la Popie. Perfect 4 day stay spent relaxing by the pool, in the vineyard, or day tripping. Great breakfast on terrace, and superb restaurant 100m down the road. Would go back anytime - can't recommend this place highly enough.Guest review byanthonyAustralia - 10.0
Mrs. and Mr.
Mrs. and Mr. Eccles are perfect hosts and I could only wish that I could have the same experience in other places we've visited. More than helpful, they were eager to suggest what to do in the region, which restaurants to visit and they made all the required reservations. Also, the route to Rieuzal is very well marked (obviously the couple is not french so you have marks at every crossroad and you just can't miss:)). The view is fantastic, it's also very quiet and just perfect to have a good and relaxing stay. Though we've been in Périgord for several times, this was our best stay ever and I don't believe it could be beaten easily...Guest review byRokSlovenia - 10.0

An amazing French medieval town (nothing like this in the UK)- a fantastic place to walk around and stay in for a short holiday. There are flat walks up and down the river, and many well signposted walks going up into the hills around. We went to the local swimming pool, swum in the local river, ate in local restaurants. This is deep rural France, and a good base for exploring the area around.Guest review byIanUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Cahors is a nice little city.
Cahors is a nice little city. There isn't much spectacular to see or do, but it kept me busy for a day. The medieval bridge is nice, the cathedral was worth a visit, and it's nice to walk next to the river that encircles the city. Keep in mind, on Sundays, nearly everything is closed. Even finding a restaurant for dinner was a struggle. I wonder if the locals even eat on a Sunday...Guest review byPeterBelgium
