We had a really nice stay with a beautiful view of mountains and greenery around! Staff at the hotel and restaurant were really friendly to us and to our dog. The spa was a great touch during our long hours drive from France to Germany. We hope to come back again to discover the nature around the area in the future. Highly suggesting the restaurant as well!

There is history in the walls of this place. A story of a family that has hosted so so many.. the walls are original. The renovation was perfect but maintained the original form.. everything is perfectly conceived . A gem in the middle of Morzine

Sonya and stagiatre and her team at Jiva Hill Resort made our honeymoon truly special. From the warm welcome to the small thoughtful touches throughout our stay, everything was handled with care and attention. They went out of their way to ensure we felt celebrated and relaxed, creating a peaceful and romantic atmosphere that we’ll always remember. Their kindness, professionalism, and dedication added so much to our experience—it was the perfect start to our journey together.

The room I reserved was good, but there was a party at night and I couldn't sleep. I asked the receptionists to change my room and they move me to a better room with no noise for free. They said it is important to make us happy. This is one of the things I liked. I really loved my stay here. I will definitely book in the same hotel for my next visit to Chamonix.

    Horrible, dirty city.

Horrible, dirty city. There are better European locations to travel to. The old town is literally one street that will take you 15 minutes to walk through and back. The metro map is confusing, with no English translations anywhere. The entire city is under construction. The cathedral has beautiful architecture with French descriptions. Definitely not a tourist-friendly city.

The town is quite run down with a lot of graffiti and many closed businesses. The gondola to the Bastille was very uncomfortable and really there was nothing at the top, except the view of the city. However, we had two great dinners - one in a traditional French restaurant and the other at a 1 star Michelin restaurant.

To be honest, Valence is an ugly city. The Rhone flows through it but alas large motorways beside it. The centre is a bit run down. If you are on your way and are near it, you can visit the centre and have something to eat. There is a nice park near the river.

Interesting town with cultural heritage. I was just passing through en route from Italy to London but it is a perfect stopover for one night. Unfortunately I was there on a Monday, when some attractions eg the castle are closed but I did visit the cathedral. There are many restaurants which sell local produce.

Aix-les-Bains is a very pleasant town on the shores of the biggest lake in France: Lake Bouget. There are lots of restaurants and places to visit including a Casino, mountains and water sports. If you can, we recommend you try the boat cruse around the lake and include a meal on board.

We were on a mission to revisit Parc de Merlet with our grandaughter thirty-six years after we took her mother. The Parc delivered, with Chamois, Mouflon and Marmots to enjoy. The views from accommodation on that side of the valley are the best in the valley. In Les Houches village, the local patisserie was visited and a different cake enjoyed every day. There were plenty of paths (including Tour de Mont Blanc) into the forest, for walks from the chalet. Wonderful Alpine wildlife is easy to find. It was convenient to take the free train into Chamonix and take a ride to Le Brevent then walk the ridge and back to the chalet. We did the Mer de Glas, to from Chamonix. We went up to Bellevue on the teleferique and walked across the alp, finding several wild flowers and even a rare Wart-Biter Grasshopper! We then took the Tramway du Mont Blanc down to Saint-Gervais-Les-Bains and had a lovely afternoon in the beautiful park. There was a very tough Via Ferrata for the over 70s (with 50 years experience) and a Go Ape-type circuit with a rock-climb included in the trail for the 10-year-old and her Mamma, then train back to Les Houches. One weekend evening was lively down in the village, but up on the hill we could sit out in relative calm and stare at the sunset on snowy Mont Blanc, stars and the torch-lights of mountaineers picking their way down. All-in-all, very relaxing.

Evian-les-Bains in June, during what should be peak tourist...

Evian-les-Bains in June, during what should be peak tourist season, felt unexpectedly lifeless. Many stores appeared permanently closed, and the town lacked any real atmosphere after early evening—by 10pm, only the casino restaurant was still serving food. This left few options for late dining or entertainment. Given these circumstances and the general sense of a closed-up town, I would not recommend visiting Evian-les-Bains, especially if you're expecting a lively lakeside resort experience. While some guides and official tourism pages highlight Evian's attractive lakefront, Belle Époque architecture, and potential activities along the lake and nearby outdoors, recent firsthand accounts confirm a lack of vibrancy and operational businesses, even in traditionally busy months. For travelers who prioritize a bustling atmosphere and broad dining options long into the evening, it may be better to look elsewhere.
