- From $114.63 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 202 reviewsI did not eat the breakfast although I did have dinner which I reserved in advance because meals are provided by an outside catering service (which itself could have done better than serving boeuf bourguignon in a round drinking-glass-style vessel which made it impossible to properly use a knife and fork unless you dumped it out on a plate). Dinner was an okay value of lettuce and duck gizzard salad (very nice), the boeuf bourguignon (nothing special), and a lime-infused whipped mascarpone with red berry coulis (nice) for €25. The waitress recommended local wine Roumegnac which did not disappoint. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was nothing short of stunning--large glass walk-in shower with a very nice showerhead, lovely huge beige stone tiles, a charming freestanding bowl sink. Featured a hair dryer and towels, of course, but oddly there was no towel bar next to sink for a hand towel. Minor issue to be sure. A bar of hand soap and an all-purpose gel in the shower are the sole toiletries provided. (And I didn't realize the gel dispenser wasn't working until I was already in the shower; it took some doing, but eventually I managed to fix it.) I was really pleased that they let me bring my little dog and we were just one flight up which meant it was easy to duck out to walk her a few times. Overall, staff were very friendly and helpful, eager to please, and tried to speak as much English as they could manage for me, which I very much appreciated.Guest review bySiobhanFrance

We felt so relaxed and at home that we didn’t want to leave. Everyone was so wonderful and kind to us which set our stay in this wonderful manoir apart from all other places. The owners were (high-level) antique dealers prior to completing renovating the manor and the furniture and decor is just perfect. Each room has a different theme which makes it quite fun! Even the rich colors in the rooms make you feel warm and comfortable. It was the first days of the heat wave and the pool was luscious. Breakfast was delicious and we tasted the local grape juice made by the neighbor along with the other goodies. They had a lovely light evening meal which was perfect, especially during the heat wave. The region produces lots of fruit and vegetables (tomatoes that you can’t believe) and these were highlighted in the meals. The local wine was delicious. I highly recommend the Manoir Saint-Jean to guests looking to get away from the hustle and bustle to just relax. Thank you Dominic, Anne-Marie and Frederic for such a lovely stay. Moissac is a small town with a big and important abbey.
Moissac is a small town with a big and important abbey. We loved the relaxed atmosphere (eg free parking), the covered market open in the morning with fresh produce, the restaurants and cafes in near to the abbey. We also enjoyed a free concert in the abbey itself after a downpour ended chances of an outdoor performance. We found the people friendly and helpful. There are a range of eating options and a lovely walk along the canal. An amazing French medieval town (nothing like this in the UK...
An amazing French medieval town (nothing like this in the UK)- a fantastic place to walk around and stay in for a short holiday. There are flat walks up and down the river, and many well signposted walks going up into the hills around. We went to the local swimming pool, swum in the local river, ate in local restaurants. Moissac old town square is great but I would not stay anywhere else in Moissac. I was there on a Monday and all of the cute little shops were closed. We ate at a great little place called La Terrasse. The food was delicious but the service was a little slow which was the case at most eating establishments in France. Amazing medieval village situated along a beautiful river and sprawling nature and greenery. The village is exactly as expected, small cobble streets; each building with character and a story to tell. Everyone in the town was so lovely, and extremely welcoming, and most of all patient, as you practiced your primary school french.
