Set in Kelso, 41 km from The Maltings Theatre & Cinema, SCHLOSS Roxburghe, part of Destination by Hyatt offers accommodation with a fitness centre, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge. Staff was very attentive and very friendly whoever you spoke to and they all made sure we had a good experience. The food was really good too. The newer area of the hotel was very nicely decorated and clean, and the old part of the estate still had a very cosy feeling, especially the bar in the "library" where we could sit and have a few drinks after dinner.

There are lots of good walking/cycle paths in the area and easy access to Borders towns such as Peebles, Innerleithen, Selkirk, Melrose and Kelso. The nearest village, Walkerburn (2.5 miles) has a great cafe (Caberston Farm), a local grocery, a play-park and some nice riverside walking. Our hosts - Eleanor, Adam and Rosemary - were helpful and always ready to chat, whilst giving us plenty of space.

This is a beautiful building, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The quality of food at breakfast and dinner was outstanding. There is so much venturing to be done around the borders, it's lovely to know that you can you come back to some delicious food and relax in one of the bars. Beautifully decorated apartment with access to full facilities. Washing machine and dishwasher were a life saver! Bed was extremely comfortable and cosy. The apartment is located 30 seconds away from the town centre and parking is available. Ella and Leo were fantastic hosts, really friendly and happy to check in with a message day to day to make sure the stay was going well. The breakfast was as substantial as you wanted it to be, the evening meal menu was excellent, the staff were very attentive and kind.
