When an issue with our room couldn't be resolved, they moved us to a better room, to ensure that we had a comfortable stay, which was amazing. The space was beautiful, with stunning views and clean, stylish interiors. There were beautiful walks, tennis courts, games, restaurants, with easy access to St Ives. The beaches and coastal walks were stunning.
The beaches and coastal walks were stunning. The town is easily navigated on foot with some decent bars and restaurants- but has a bit of a rough edge at times / places. Wetherspoons (Towan Blistra) was great value for food / drinks. Trenance Gardens and lake (free) is a lovely amenity and well worth a visit. We opted to spend all of our 6 nights in Newquay and used a hire car to visit other places. On reflection about two nights there would have been enough and a few more nights at St Ives / Penzance / Falmouth, etc would have been better.Guest review byvincentIreland - 10.0

The sea water lido on the shore, with a geothermal section was a big hit with us. We enjoyed walking along the promendate and watching the variable sea, sometimes crashing against the formidable sea wall. Our main attraction for choosing Penzance was the ferry to St Marys, Isles of Scilly, which is doable as a day trip. The ferry port is at the end of the promendate, easily accessible. There are good bus services to various destinations in the area, such as Mousehole and St Ives.Guest review byEleanorUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Pleasant town, some interesting small galleries; loved the train trip to and from St Erth. Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Garden excellent; Tate Modern impressive building and location, collection disappointing. Geevor Tin Mine Museum very good. Bad weather prevented wander through what appeared an interesting cemetery. Ate at apartment as too difficult to get down into town at night. Surprised that some bus routes ceased at end of August. Live near the beach at Sydney but still pleased to see Porthminster after cobblestone beaches elsewhere in England. Very helpful tourist information centre.Guest review byJoyAustralia - 10.0

The bus service is good - so well worth using it as parking in Cornwall tourist spots is difficult. The ferry rides to surrounding areas are well worth taking. It's a student town and so quite lively but everyone we met was extremely polite and friendly. Town kept very clean by CCC.Guest review byAlisonUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Didn’t visit St Austell but hotel is close to Lost Gardens of Heligan, Looe, Polperro and about 45 minutes from Trebah Gardens in Falmouth. All are well worth a visit. Hotel is also a very short walk from Britannia Inn where we had a lovely meal.Guest review byAnonymous - 6.0

Apart from the cathedral there was not much else . We had based ourselves in Truro to visit Tresillik National Trust which in spite of being in great location was rather dissappointing having visited Lanhydrock earlier in the day which was superb. The house in Tressilick was very limited and appeared to be mainly used in lieu of the more usual excellent NT restaurant.Guest review byRogerUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We love Padstow and have visited several times over the years. Bear in mind that it is actually very small and can get intolerably over-crowded in high season. We went in late September this year and it was still very busy. It's extremely pretty but not cheap to eat or shop thereGuest review byJaneUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Looe Has so many interesting little streets with historic buildings. Quaint little shops and places to eat or stop of for coffee to plan your next adventure, maybe pop into one of the pubs or inns around the town. Lovely sandy beaches, (it would be nice if they were Dog friendly like the rest of the Town though). so many lovely walks with beautiful views.Guest review byKAZUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The Bude canal walk with our dog was great, and the varied shops in Bude were excellent as were the eating places in and around Bude. Widemouth is worth a visit - not far away - we had an excellent meal at the Bay View Inn and saw the sunset from thereGuest review byTerryUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Tintagel is a magical place to visit.
Tintagel is a magical place to visit. Lots of little shops and places to eat. We enjoyed having a coffee at the Camelot Castle Hotel with beautiful views of the sea and the moors. Also King Arthur’s Castle can be seen and people walking over the bridge to it. We would like to have walked over the bridge but we were advised that the walk is long and steep and not suitable for unsteady walkers.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom
