Have visited Exeter a few times now due to son at Uni. This time ate aten at Pizza Express opposite the catherdal but service is very slow even in quiet times. Was shocked that a glass of wine was £10. There are lots of restaurants to choose nearby.Guest review byRachelUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The town is on a steep slope, so driving around seems a better option than walking to the beach. The old nostalgic harbour is worth visiting. You cannot miss the statue of Verity, a recent attraction.Guest review byViviaRomania - 10.0
Lovely clean beach.
Lovely clean beach. A busy town with a mix of shops and eating places. Manor Gardens Park was a lovely place to sit quietly. People very friendly. The Bath House restaurant very reasonably priced, good food, good service.Guest review byCatherineUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The local independent shops are great.
The local independent shops are great. There are quite a few local attractions like the castle, and boat trips. Suitable for both families with children and adults. There is excellent bus , boat and steam train transport to other places. We only used the car one day. There is a wide variety of restaurants and take aways for all budgets. There is a Marks &Spencers food store and a Coop in the town , and also a Sainsburys on the road in if you want to self cater. The waterside is very well maintained has plenty of seating and lots of planting to make it look attractive.Guest review byJulieUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A small town with interesting shops, even has a department store. The museum was good and the Toy & Model Museum great for rainy days. A lovely theatre well worth a visit. I'm sure the promenade is very nice when the weather is good too!Guest review byLindaUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Has a good range of shops and some reasonably priced long-stay parking. Interesting local museum by the river is well worth a visit. Many other seaside villages and other local towns easily reached from this area, including RHS Rosehall Gardens and a couple of NT properties worth a visit. We had a full week at The Spinney, Barnstable and did a different thing each day. Some very good local places to have dinner eg the Williams Arms and Squires Fish Restaurant in Braunton. Be careful to keep to A and B roads where possible as some narrow country lanes are challenging and can be time-consuming to drive.Guest review byAlistairUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The coastal views were breathtaking with many places to walk along coastal paths to enjoy the beautiful and lush scenery. Also the funicular railway has a long and interesting history all of its own and is a must to enjoy.Guest review byPaulineUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Lovely town some nice shops but quite expensive.
Lovely town some nice shops but quite expensive. Couple of nice pubs and several nice cafes. Worth the walk to south sands beach and the Winking Prawn cafe. Great quick, inexpensive ferry across bay to Fisherman's cove beach and coastal path .Traffic a nuisance. Can get very busy especially in school holidays.Guest review byBarbaraUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Totnes a lovely town with plenty of coffee and pasty shops.
Totnes a lovely town with plenty of coffee and pasty shops. Interesting buildings with Markets taking place on a regular basis. Only one coffee shop opens at 8 am - thank goodness for that one. Only gripe was WH Smith not open until 9 am. Surely customers who want their early morning paper prefer the shop to be open from 8 am at least - it is a newsagent. To purchase a newspaper to go with the early morning coffee, cannot be done in Totnes.Guest review byStellaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
A beautiful place away from the City hustle.
A beautiful place away from the City hustle. The Caravan stay for awesome and my parents and my family loved it. The caravan booked was for 7 people including 2 kids, which had 3 bedroom and 1 toilet and one toilet and bathroom attached. We booked for 3 nights, and on the second day we decided to check if we could extend the stay for another 3 nights, but it was a shame that caravan was booked and we could not extend our stay. Our car was parked in front of the Caravan we stayed. The nearby food joints was about ~10 to 15 mins walk from the location "Seafield Holiday Park". "Affinity Devon Outlet Shopping" was about 10 mins drive from the location we stayed. I would surely recommend to visit/stay in this place.Guest review byAlexUnited Kingdom
