Wow what has happened the council need to start generateing funds into the place. Help get those buildings and guest houses sorted. We were so shocked really disappointing not half the place it used to be . We attended the theatre, a ten minute walk. Had Tapas across from the theatre prior to the performance..We toured the central area and quay areas on foot. It had good shops down the shambles and a good market. Could have done with some more cafes that did English breakfasts. We took awhile to find one, but when we did it was good and value for money. Good fish and chip restaurant down the shambles. There is alot of history to York so enjoyed that. The buffet breakfast was ideal for us and in a very quiet and peaceful setting. There were people around to help you to a seat and so the dining room didn't seem too overcrowded. The staff greeted us and that made a difference to our experience for breakfast!! The room was better than expected and we took a walk in the evening despite it being on a busy road. The reception staff helped with information about the shuttle bus to our terminal and it all worked well. I went over to the coast to Portishead and was amazed by the 10 meter tidal range.
