Beautiful building retaining many of the original features with stunning views across the Menai Strait to Gwynedd - a quick stroll to the castle, gaol and sea front
Very friendly staff. Alice - the server in the restaurant was wonderful
Such a lovely welcome! The room was cosy and had excellent facilities. I particularly liked the little touches that made it so cosy like the salt lamp and doggy doorstop. Breakfast was amazing with a beautifully presented buffet and very tasty hot breakfast. I'm coeliac and would highly recommend to any other coeliacs for a great meal. It was an absolute pleasure to stay there and I even got to meet Flash the dog who was as friendly as his owners. Lovely to meet you all, I'll definitely be back and have recommended you to friends already.
We enjoyed the pool & spa. Free parking & how central it is but most of all how welcoming everyone was.
The beds were very comfy, all areas were clean. The breakfast was fabulous
The food and the room are better than expected. The staffs are friendly and helpful. Location is convenient for living.
The setting is so unique and you feel as if you’ve gone back centuries to how things looked then. Please know it was very clean and well maintained. They’ve mastered a medieval feel. The on-site dining was tremendous.
The sea view was amazing wasn't expecting a view from your own balcony for what we paid!
Loved everything staff were lovely one or two at breakfast came across a bit off when we moved tables but then we should have asked 🤔
We had two dinners at Royal Oak. The first was rather disappointing. When we returned to town a week later, we had an exceptional dinner in their beautiful peacock blue dining room. Regardless of which visit, staff were uniformly kind and warm. Our room was comfortable and breakfast was again excellent, both in quality of the raw materials and care in preparation.
Staff was brilliant! Really nice and helpful, thoughtful and gave me a quiet room as it was a wedding downstairs. Room was small but enough space. My room had windows towards the street but it was quiet during the night
The staff were all welcoming and lovely. We went with my rescue health support animal and we're very accomodating. They left a little treat bag for my pup and a bed. That was a very nice touch and really made us feel welcome as a family. We didn't eat in the restaurant as I was quite poorly the whole weekend but we had room service of the vegan burger and fries and the delicious vegan chocolate brownie with fruit coulee and vegan vanilla ice-cream. The beds were huge and so comfortable. Very clean and tidy good choice of coffees and teas. They had a pool, steam room and sauna although I didn't use them myself my partner did everyday and he loved it. He's been spoilt now. Set a very high standard, the most beautiful hotel we've ever stayed. Room was beautiful and clean. Loved the fact they had vegan handwash and shower gel as standard. Great location, a few minutes walk from the harbour. Was great to be somewhere green and lush without loads of tourists. Great little town. We will be back again. Thank you so much for a lovely stay.
Beautiful, charming building with wonderful garden and view. Comfortable room. Big parking. Very good breakfast with lots of choices. Very good restaurant in hotel.
We could not have wanted for anything more. Robin and Jane were extremely accommodating, we had our dogs with us who loved the place and the grounds. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble and they were the perfect hosts. Their passion for hospitality and clearly for amazing food was clear to see. Also to reiterate... the food was amazing.
Room was comfortable with added extras like hairdryer. We were upgraded from a single to a twin with sea view. Very happy and excellent value
All wonderful. Our room had a panoramic view but no balcony. Changing the windows so they slide down from the top to open and forming a secure railing is worth consideration. Otherwise a ceiling fan would be a cheaper but secondary option. I appreciate the middle window opens right up but I doubt that would gain bureaucrat approval today. With the glass balcony option more could be charged for the room to obtain a reasonably shorty payback period.
