Shoreside inn ligger i Shanklin, 2,7 km från Sandown Beach. Här erbjuds boende med gratis WiFi och gratis privat parkering. Rummen har garderob, platt-TV, eget badrum, sängkläder och handdukar. The breakfast is amazing! Very nice English breakfast included and extremely exceeded our expectations. The landlords are very friendly, kind and helpful. I highly appreciate the help from them for purchasing the period pad for my partner at night. My partner had period and did not prepare the pad. When we realized it, it was almost 10 pm and nearly all the stores were closed. The landlord drove me to the closest store to purchase it! I want to say a sincere thank you to them.

Situated in Totland Bay on the Isle of Wight, this award-winning, fully licensed, property offers free Wi-Fi in all areas and benefits from free private parking on site. We would definitely come here again! Gayle and Mark are wonderful hosts- there is nothing you could want for in the Sentry Mead- they have literally thought of EVERYTHING! The rooms are tastefully decorated, have mini-fridges, snacks and mugs for tea and bathrobes. Downstairs there is a bar room with drinks and snacks on the honour system and upstairs a Nespresso machine. The downstairs lounge is comfortable and inviting, as is the conservatory, terrace and garden area. You are a three-minute walk from the beach and trekking routes. There are restaurants and shops nearby as well as a bus stop, from where you can catch several different buses to explore the island. It is quiet and peaceful, but wonderfully accessible to tourist sights and other points of interest. And the breakfasts are outstanding!

Breakfast was great with a choice of continental and British, very tasty and freshly prepared. Attention to detail from the owner David and the effort he made to make us feel welcome and help us make the most of our stay on the island.

The Wellington is very unassuming from outside but inside it is really lovely. The hotel is undergoing a refurbishment and the dining room is beautifully done and looks fantastic - I'm sure the bedrooms will look as fantastic when completed, The staff were really lovely and we had such a warm welcome. We's asked for an early check in as were attending a wedding and this was no trouble at all. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choice and served by a lovely sever, again nothing was too much trouble. We especially liked the balconies looking out to sea - the perfect place for a much needed arrival cuppa!

I do admit that we found it by chance, and this sure was one lucky chance. Great hotel in an old building. The people working there, more or less made us feel more like family than guests, without in any way being invasive. They always had time for a little chat, and very politely suggesting things to see, and places to eat. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Isle of Wight.

Om du gillar att bada och gå på en massa konserter (Shanklin Theatre) under juni-aug. Då är nog detta rätt ställe. Om du gillar att äta ute, friterat och hatar grönsaker och smak då finns det massor att välja på. Vill du ha grönsaker till det du äter välj matvaruaffärernas färdiga lådor. Mycket populärt och fräscht samt mycket billigare.Detta gäller inte bara på Isle of Wight. Notera att Old Village är några hus på High Street och Church Road.

Trevlig strandpromenad till Shanklin.
Trevlig strandpromenad till Shanklin. Dinosaure Isle rekommenderas för både barn och vuxna (promenadavstånd från centrala Sandown). Isle of Wight Steam Railway är också värt ett besök. Missa inte deras museum "Train Story" som även passar bra för små barn. Tåget från Ryde Pier Head till Sandown funkar smidigt men för alla andra ställen på ön är det buss som gäller.

Vi åkte hit för att hälsa på vänner som bor strax utanför.
Vi åkte hit för att hälsa på vänner som bor strax utanför. Vi hann inte se så mycket av Newport därför kan det vara värt med en resa igen en annan gång. Men ett intryck var att det är pitoreskt både i Newport och i omgivningarna på Isle of Wight. Det verkar vara bra förbindelser med buss i och till och från Newport.

Fin by med en gammal stadsdel.
Fin by med en gammal stadsdel. Härlig strand med fina promenadvägar utmed kusten. Vid stranden finns mycket nöjen för främst barn, flera minigolfbanor och annat. Isle of wight är en vacker ö med mycket att se och göra.
