- From $110.56 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very Good - What previous guests thought, 2,200 reviewsThe location was very good: twenty minute walk to the city center; twenty-five to the Cathedral. The Victoria restaurant is excellent. We had dinner each night of our three night stay (good variety of vegetarian choices; best fish and chips and vegetarian lasagna- see pictures). The free parking in the back lot was very appreciated. Wifi was strong. Room was good size and very comfortable. Three floors; no elevator, we were on the third floor and staff helped with our luggage.Guest review byHoward A and AliceIsrael

Folkestone has retained much of its old world charm.
Folkestone has retained much of its old world charm. It is a very old town with a lot of interesting history, from smuggling to being a main port for departure and arrival from France for many years. It is surrounded by gently rolling hills and is only about a 45 minute drive to Canterbury. Folkestone's main shopping street has many small shops as well as a Sainsbury, Asda and Lidl store all close by. The old high street is very picturesque with a steep slope and a cobbled road. Folkestone harbour is a good place to visit and there is both a sandy beach and shingle beaches.Guest review byJo MiltonUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We found people we came into contact with friendly and helpful, particularly at the hotel,on the boat trip we had and particularly at a restaurant called Marlowe’s just opposite the hotel, lovely food and delightful staff. Getting round the city on foot is easy,by car it’s more problematicalGuest review byJudithUnited Kingdom - 4.0
It was cheap and the location good with free car parking!
It was cheap and the location good with free car parking! However the soap dispenser was empty, the toilet was broken, lights in both the bathroom and main room were not working, electric socket were not working and television reception was appalling so could not be watched! Obviously the room 'had not been checked by anyone' for some time which is worrying. The top of the toilet cistern had come off exposing various attempts with toilet rolls etc to secure the operation of the main handle to no avail, I assume this had been done by staff!Guest review byBRIANUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Debbie is an excellent hostess - her breakfast spread is above par in presentation, taste and portions. She has a bubbly character and is generally very concerned with each guest's comfort during the stay and appetite at the breakfast table. The rooms were spacious and well equipped with snacks and toiletries. Should I need to be in the Ashford area, I will definite choose her B&B for the entire duration of my stay.Guest review byAndrew LW LeeSingapore - 10.0
Good choice of shops and restaurants.
Good choice of shops and restaurants. Good transport links if no car, i.e. regular buses for local trips or nearby towns including Hastings and Tunbridge and Railway Station (Hastings an hour away by train). Worth a visit to Museum and Art Gallery. Lovely parks including Calverley Park - easily accessible from town (walking) for a coffee or ice cream! Enjoy!!Guest review byAudreyUnited Kingdom - 6.0

The room itself was clean and tidy. Once in the room found the tv wouldn't work properly and bought the staff up and they couldn't get it to work either. The onsite restaurant was under renovation so no dinner or Breakfast though there was an eatery next door bar one and the food was lovely thereGuest review byJimmy CUnited Kingdom - 4.0

In the 70's Margate/Cliftonville was fabulous a hive of activity...the beaches was jam packed with people...the high street was fabulous..but now high street has hardly anything shops a lady stopped me to ask where the high street was...I said your in it...! Very sad looking area now... Where the pier used to be there's now some awful modern monstrosity of a building looking like metal huge boxes...supposedly an art gallery I heard...really awful looking 😖 Around to Cliftonville the Winter gardens looked derelict as well as the Lido area...and the Llidoo swimming pool was filled in with cement donkeys years ago and the walls of pool are now falling into the sea..sad!...when I think back how these places was a hive off activity and all guest houses packed...now your hard pushed to find one...but i did and it was greatGuest review bySusanUnited Kingdom - 10.0
We attended for an event.
We attended for an event. The accommodation was perfect as near to the beach as we could get. I enjoyed watching various vessels with binoculars from the top floor of our accommodation. There was plenty of places to eat and we loved eating in the wonderful outdoor places before the Harbour Arm. The scenery was beautiful and everyone was very accommodating. I would love to go again but stay longer. We didn't travel really once there as there was everything we wanted where we were within walking distance.Guest review bySusan - 10.0

The Dover Castle was lots of fun and was well organized for visitors of all ages. The war tunnels on the other hand were poorly organized and should be reorganized in order to help make them more interesting. The films on the walls explaining the historical events were difficult to understand due to the echo. The significance of the tunnels could be made more hands on for the younger generation to grasp. The Cliffs of Dover- easily a days experience and excellent hike and picnic opportunities along the way.Guest review byEllenIsrael - 8.0

Fairly quiet, enough to keep us interested. Loved the Pavilion and the new bar/restaurant nearby on the beach. There was a lovely coastal path walk to Broadstairs. We appreciated the quiet whereas Broadstairs was rammed!Guest review byJoannaUnited Kingdom
