- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 80 reviewsIt is in the countryside. Very peaceful. Wye is three miles away, so it is easy to get supplies. There was bread, fruit, milk, butter and jam for us when we arrived. Caroline and her daughter, Carys, were very helpful. The apartment was well-equipped. There's no cell phone service, but the wifi was excellent.Guest review byJoanUnited States

My wife and I were born and brought up in Kent, so think it's special, even though we moved away years ago. Margate has developed extensively on the back of the Turner gallery, but there is also much to admire off the beaten track, particularly as the once-tired traditional seaside resorts, like Folkestone become more popular. Less well advertised attractions like the Wildwood Trust or the Brogdale National Heritage fruit tree collection are well worth a visit. Towns like Faversham and Whitstable have managed to retain their traditional feel with small specialist shops,Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The main purpose of or visit was to see places where I was born and brought up for the my first 10 years of my life starting at 1942. Much has changed and the area is very very congested. unlikely to visit againlGuest review byBurtonUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The Dog & Bear was very comfortable.
The Dog & Bear was very comfortable. Great to have a bath with really hot water after a hard day walking the Pilgrims Way. Food was just what we needed, well cooked, filling and tasty. Staff were helpful friendly and interesting. Other places are available to eat. Many wonderful historic buildings in Lenham. Easy walk to the train station.Guest review byKatrinaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We stayed at the start of the summer holidays and hence were caught up in heavy traffic on the A20 enroute to Dover. Apparently that happens quite frequently, so factor this in to travel times. Very close to Leeds Castle, and not far from Canterbury and Sissinghurst so plenty to do in the area.Guest review byChristineUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A delightful village, just off the beaten track that feels like it is some sort of time warp. A great place if you want to slow down for just a little while. This was our third visit, and we look forward to many more.Guest review byChrisUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We loved the pool, crazy golf, tennis courts and table tennis. Having loads of grass areas around the grandchildren could play football or just run around. We had an Indian takeaway delivered, which was really good. The Rising Sun pub do very good food, only a short walk away. We went shopping in Deal, bought some lovely things. Drinking our morning coffee on the decking outside, with the sun shining and a view of the sea is something I will miss. We used the Deli and got some really good sausages and burgers.Guest review byCarolineUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Super tradition English hotel, nicely furnished and welcoming. Very clean with well presented cosy rooms. Staff were very helpful and kind, they provided us with a ground level room as requested due to my wife’s mobility issues. The receptionist offered to help bring our luggage in, brilliant.Guest review byPhilipUnited Kingdom
