10 out of 10. The whole experience was fantastic especially since it was our Honeymoon we couldn't have asked for a better stay. I mentioned when booking for a jug of dairy free milk, which we received in the room but also in a fridge which from my understanding not all rooms come with, again this was going above the call of duty. The room was amazing and cleaned to perfection. We ordered room service which again was second to none and when we dined at the on site restaurant again absolutely fantastic. We've already suggested that we will be coming back next year for our first anniversary.

Everything really!! The hotel staff are lovely and welcoming. The place is stunning and views are breathtaking, especially if you get a room with a lake / Hill view. Spotless hotel, room was very big. Food was delicious, nothing was too much for any member of staff to help you with. My family has spa treatments and said they were fabulous, the pool area was gorgeous to lounge around. The outside area to relax was beautiful. Luckily we had amazing weather. We did the whisky tour at the lakes distillery which was so good, beware a taxi ride cost 80 pounds one way! We will Def stay here again when in the UK it was amazing, and a bonus it's dog friendly so I got my dog fix as we live overseas and we're missing ours!!

The hotel was perfect for our one night stay. The weather was horrible so we spent some time in the very comfortable relaxing hotel lounge. Although it rained constantly we ventured out to Allan Bank, a short 6 minutes walk and also a walk along the path towards Easdale tarn. The food in the restaurant was superb. The bedroom had everything we needed for one night and the bed was very comfortable.

    A lovely place to visit.

A lovely place to visit. Lots of good local shops, cafes and restaurants that were nearby. Buses 599 open top available to get to other places and train station with good connections if you don't want to drive. We enjoyed visiting Ambleside, Bowness, Coniston and Grasmere. We took a boat out on Windermere from Low Woods, the car ferry to Hawkeshead and the boat trip on Lake Coniston. A walk down to the lake directly from Windermere via Birthwaite Road leads you to two small jetties where people were swimming, paddle boarding and people watching. In Windermere, Home Ground Cafe is a great place for breakfast but be prepared to queue. Tillys bar did a good fish and chips. Cafe Italia for pizza etc.

Bowness is good place to take a short break.

Bowness is good place to take a short break. The ferry trip to Lakeside and the short train ride was most enjoyable and very good value. The first two days were warm and sunny, but inevitably it poured down on the last day. Bowness was busy and eating out is expensive. Cafe '4' provides the best and least expensive meals in Bowness.

Have been to Keswick many times in the past (usually staying outside of Keswick itself). This was the first trip staying in the town centre. Lovely buzzing atmosphere in the summer, lots of tourists in the main streets but where we stayed was quiet and only 15 minutes walk into the town itself. Plenty of pubs and places to eat. I actually love looking in all the shops - loads of outdoor retailers selling everything for walkers, hikers etc. Spent a fair bit of money in the shops! Well worth it. We were also lucky to visit the theatre and see a magnificent production of Pride and Prejudice. Honestly? it was the best theatre production I have ever seen - amazing! I am sure other productions showing in the future will be well worth it.

Grasmere is like nowhere else - it’s absolutely stunning and has a tranquil feel to it that just makes you feel so relaxed and content when you’re there. Plenty of walks, scenery, cafes, restaurants, a decent pub and lots of beautiful hotels to choose from. The gingerbread shop is gorgeous! There’s so much to see here. Has a nice period 'feel'.

Has a nice period 'feel'. Lots of one-off shops and very few national chain stores. Quite hilly, which could be challenging in slippery conditions. The promenade provides an excellent, uncluttered walk along the marshy coastline, particularly in good weather. Lots of great, family-run restaurants and 'eating pubs'. Provides a civilised alternative to the popular holiday resorts.
