- From $249.97 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 5,526 reviews10 out of 10. The whole experience was fantastic especially since it was our Honeymoon we couldn't have asked for a better stay. I mentioned when booking for a jug of dairy free milk, which we received in the room but also in a fridge which from my understanding not all rooms come with, again this was going above the call of duty. The room was amazing and cleaned to perfection. We ordered room service which again was second to none and when we dined at the on site restaurant again absolutely fantastic. We've already suggested that we will be coming back next year for our first anniversary.Guest review byLukeUnited Kingdom

The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, always going out of their way to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The location is absolutely stunning, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, which added a magical touch to our visit. Being so close to Keswick made it incredibly convenient for exploring the area, yet the hotel itself felt like a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle. The combination of excellent service, stunning views, and a prime location made this an unforgettable stay. Highly recommended!Guest review byCarolineUnited Kingdom
- From $243.37 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very Good - What previous guests thought, 2,315 reviewsThe hotel was perfect for our one night stay. The weather was horrible so we spent some time in the very comfortable relaxing hotel lounge. Although it rained constantly we ventured out to Allan Bank, a short 6 minutes walk and also a walk along the path towards Easdale tarn. The food in the restaurant was superb. The bedroom had everything we needed for one night and the bed was very comfortable.Guest review byChrisUnited Kingdom

A lovely place to visit.
A lovely place to visit. Lots of good local shops, cafes and restaurants that were nearby. Buses 599 open top available to get to other places and train station with good connections if you don't want to drive. We enjoyed visiting Ambleside, Bowness, Coniston and Grasmere. We took a boat out on Windermere from Low Woods, the car ferry to Hawkeshead and the boat trip on Lake Coniston. A walk down to the lake directly from Windermere via Birthwaite Road leads you to two small jetties where people were swimming, paddle boarding and people watching. In Windermere, Home Ground Cafe is a great place for breakfast but be prepared to queue. Tillys bar did a good fish and chips. Cafe Italia for pizza etc.Guest review byJulieUnited Kingdom - 8.0

The roads are horrible (very narrow) and large buses come down them forcing you to back up down the road to a pullout. The drivers in the area are terrible -probably other tourists. Parking areas and hiking trails are not well marked. The rain was constant. The area is beautiful and there is great hiking when the weather cooperates. I loved the Catbells hike and Castlerigg Stone Circle.Guest review byHeidiUnited States - 10.0

This is the third time I have been back to Bowness this year. I love the art shops, the clothes shops and most importantly the home made fudge. So relaxing watching the boats on the lake and geting the ferry to the other side to walk up to Hill Top. It was a struggle to get my grandaughter away from the Beatrix Potter museum.Guest review bytinaUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Ambleside itself is a very sweet little town.
Ambleside itself is a very sweet little town. We stayed in the outskirts which I would definitely recommend as it gets very busy and overwhelming. The streets and paths are quite small and not built for the foot traffic it gets. It's a really nice spot to visit in the evening for some food or a pint after a long day of hiking. We would recommend The Apple Pie Cafe, and the pizzas at Mama Mia were expensive but very goodGuest review byJodieUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I know Penrith well, I used to live and work here and its always a pleasure to return. It's a great little town with lots of great places to stay and eat, additionally the Lakes are on the doorstep and the locals are sooooo friendly. Additionally, not being in the National Park makes things a tad cheaper.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Kendal is a great location between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. It is large enough to have a lot of choices of restaurants, grocery and shopping options. The Castle is a lovely walk, it's beautiful, and has lots of walking paths and green spaces for dogs as well as people. We loved the markets and the local towns around, as well.Guest review bySusanUnited States - 8.0

Grasmere is like nowhere else - it’s absolutely stunning and has a tranquil feel to it that just makes you feel so relaxed and content when you’re there. Plenty of walks, scenery, cafes, restaurants, a decent pub and lots of beautiful hotels to choose from. The gingerbread shop is gorgeous! There’s so much to see here. I can’t imagine anyone not liking Grasmere! Simply beautiful.Guest review byRachelUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Has a nice period 'feel'.
Has a nice period 'feel'. Lots of one-off shops and very few national chain stores. Quite hilly, which could be challenging in slippery conditions. The promenade provides an excellent, uncluttered walk along the marshy coastline, particularly in good weather. Lots of great, family-run restaurants and 'eating pubs'. Provides a civilised alternative to the popular holiday resorts.Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom - 10.0
