- From $291.72 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 524 reviewsThis place was exceptional ! Actually had two nights here…. The facilities were world standard I understand this is one of six hotels/ spas in the Lakes owned by one family . Well they know how to deliver a customer focused , high quality service and they make you feel that you are important and valued The staff were clearly happy .. that lets us a lot about the culture here. I would recommend this place Food and restaurants were superb The rooms were quiet , full of all facilities , comfortable and luxury Thankyou for such a wonderful stay Zac and Zoe were wonderful staff . All the others worked hard to make our stay specialGuest review byColinUnited Kingdom
- From $162.47 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 1,679 reviewsI had a superb experience at Mary Mount Hotel! The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, always going out of their way to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The location is absolutely stunning, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, which added a magical touch to our visit. Being so close to Keswick made it incredibly convenient for exploring the area, yet the hotel itself felt like a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle. The combination of excellent service, stunning views, and a prime location made this an unforgettable stay. Highly recommended!Guest review byCarolineUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very Good - What previous guests thought, 543 reviewsFood quality was great. Bit more variety on the evening meals would help for those staying longer than 4 days but that is being picky. Fantastic breakfast - if there is something you want but cannot find on the buffet then ask the chefs - all very helpful. The spa was amazing and great for a rainy day. Location is perfect for walks and local communities. Room was cozy and comfortable. For 6 days we could have done with booking a bigger room - it is worth checking the options for longer stays - but the bed was super comfy and we wish we'd bought the robes.Guest review byArronUnited Arab Emirates
- From $243.77 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very Good - What previous guests thought, 2,315 reviewsThe hotel was perfect for our one night stay. The weather was horrible so we spent some time in the very comfortable relaxing hotel lounge. Although it rained constantly we ventured out to Allan Bank, a short 6 minutes walk and also a walk along the path towards Easdale tarn. The food in the restaurant was superb. The bedroom had everything we needed for one night and the bed was very comfortable.Guest review byChrisUnited Kingdom

Windermere town centre is small but has plenty of cafes and restaurants to meet all food lovers types. There are a good selection of shops for gifts etc. and all are within a few hundred yards and not too far from the railway station or buses to travel to other parts of the lakes. It is also a 10 to 15 minute walk to Bowness (downhill) which is also the place to hop on to the lake boats or alternative dining or shopping and the Beatrix Potter experience. My pictures are of the lake side in BownessGuest review byNigelUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Keswick is a beautiful laid back town with lovely restaurants and coffee shops. Fantastic hiking on its door step and great facilities for a small town. We went to the theatre and had a wonderful evening. What makes Keswick so charming is the people, everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Coming from Ireland where people generally are very friendly it was refreshing to see a similar outlook amongst the locals. It is obviously a dog lovers paradise and it attracts a lovely visitor- everyone was so nice, perhaps the atmosphere in the town contributed to this- certainly no larger louts about so I think the town has got the mix just right- we like to visit new places but we will certainly make an exception and come back to KeswickGuest review byAndyIreland - 10.0

I do like Ambleside area and Log House isn't in the town centre which I prefer, the town centre is almost a mile from Log House but you can get a bus into the centre if needed. Also you can get the boat from Waterhead Pier which is just a short walk from Log House and goes to Bowness and also Lakeside and you can get buses/trains to Keswick and Kendal and lots of other places around the lakes. And Hayes Garden Centre is just minutes away and is one of the largest in the area, lots to see and do and eat in there. As I was there just for one night I just took my own filled rolls and milk and biscuits but if had been a longer stay would have either gone to Hayes Garden Centre for a meal or over the road to Bassa and there are plenty eating places in the area. I like Bowness too and have stayed there for many years and plenty cafes, restaurants and fish and chip shop and ice cream shops and souvenir shops too.Guest review byChristineUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Kendal is a great location between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. It is large enough to have a lot of choices of restaurants, grocery and shopping options. The Castle is a lovely walk, it's beautiful, and has lots of walking paths and green spaces for dogs as well as people. We loved the markets and the local towns around, as well.Guest review bySusanUnited States - 8.0

I go there to meet up with old school friends so I know the area and where to visit. Furness Abbey, Dock Museum and Walney Island Nature Reserve are well worth visiting. Ulverston is a lovely small town and not far away.Guest review byValerieUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Traditional hotel, but clean and well decorated We were there lass that 24 hrs but found the staff to be pleasant and the food good It was a perfect stop over on the way to Scotland - but could have stayyed longerGuest review byKateUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Has a nice period 'feel'.
Has a nice period 'feel'. Lots of one-off shops and very few national chain stores. Quite hilly, which could be challenging in slippery conditions. The promenade provides an excellent, uncluttered walk along the marshy coastline, particularly in good weather. Lots of great, family-run restaurants and 'eating pubs'. Provides a civilised alternative to the popular holiday resorts.Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom
