Lovely village with coastal walk right on the doorstep of the local inn. You can walk for miles along the seafront into Morecambe and beyond. Heysham is a great base for visiting many tourist areas in Lancashire and also the Lake District.
The castle tour is well worth it, especially as they are opening new bits of it as they are being restored. The fantastic tour guide, who has more than a passing resemblance to Prince Harry, brought the tour to life, we really enjoyed it. Parking is relatively easy, and not too pricey either. The Priory just behind the castle is well worth a visit too, especially if they have a concert on as the acoustics are amazing! We also went to the museum, very easy to find, free, and has a lovely military museum tucked away inside it. A must for anyone who had family in the Kings Own Royal Lancashire's like me. What we saw of Lancaster was good, and we loved the three way bridge over the river too. Parts of the town are a little run down , but not too bad, unlike the shock i had visiting Morecambe Bay, very run down, very sad to see that the council haven't put some money into restoring it, as it is a pretty little town with the most fantastic toy shop and children's special occasion clothes shop right next door to each other. The Stone Pier is worth a wander along as is the statue of Eric Morecambe to see too. Other than that and the odd second hand shop, there is not a lot more to see. It does however have the most amazing toilet block that was cheap, clean, and like a tardis inside, it looks tiny from the outside, but believe me, it isn't! To be fair, we didn't explore all of the town, but we were advised not to go to one end as it was a no go area, and that came from a local! Just a shame that the museum was shut - as a lot of things are on a monday in Lancashire - that would have been nice to see. This was only a 2 day break, maybe a little longer might have brought hidden treasures to light.
Smart market town with some very good shops of all types, My husband was over the moon at the quantity and quality of the beer with so many different types on offer and a micro brewery, Food was not a problem as the cafes and restaurants all good to excellent. The other bonus is the East Lancashire Steam Railway which is rich in history and museum a Bury also more beer in the station tavern !!!

Lancaster has much to offer. It has an amazing garden overlooking to sea. There are museums and galleries. The castle is a must as it is full of history, especially the Lancashire Witches. It is a good centre for the Lakes, the Dales, he Trough of Bowl and and the Fylde Coast. We get there often.
A friendly, warm reception from all I met in this historic Lancashire Pennine town. Lots of independent shops and market traders to suite most tastes. I look forward to returning in the future.
It was a stop over on an otherwise beautiful scenic journey through Cumbria and down into Lancashire . So we did not see a great deal of Barnsoldwick.
It's a lovely quiet part of Lancashire. Very pretty on a summer evening or very early in the morning. The restaurant at The Mill served up a very good evening meal with good choice of wines. The marina and locks at Glasson Docks nearby are interesting with a couple of pubs and a cafe. We didn't visit the other pub nearby called The Stork but it looked nice from outside.
Lytham st Anne's is a great all rounder for all ages, we only discovered this little gem 11 years ago,we would recommend a day out, a weekend or even a weeks stay, there s so much to discover ....I commend Lancashire council for the towns cleanliness..... Well done....

The apartment was very tastefully decorated, with a double bedroom at each end of the apartment. Maria, our host, was lovely. We had fresh blueberries out of her garden left in the kitchen to welcome us. Fresh bread, cereals, milk, tea, coffee, and biscuits. Perfect for our one night stay.❤️. We will definitely stay here again if we visit Lancashire. There is a designated parking space safely behind gates, too.👌
The staff is very friendly. We arrived early, 2 hours before check-in and the room was already ready. The hotel is very clean. The room was daily tidy and clean up. The location of the hotel is excellent, very close to UCLAN (University of Central Lancashire) and to Preston city center. I recommend this hotel especially to parents who come to visit their children, students at UCLAN, as is our case.
Set within a beautiful location in the Lancashire countryside, the hotel was an absolutely beautiful find. The grounds are gorgeous and the perfect escape for those seeking some picturesque rural fresh air. We were also impressed with the breakfast which was freshly cooked, hearty, and generously portioned. The staff were also exceptionally friendly and good-natured.
Beautiful pub with lovely, spacious rooms. Plenty of tea/coffee in rooms. Breakfast was great, I had the vegetarian breakfast and OH had Lancashire breakfast, the ingredients were good quality and plentiful. Staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Will definitely be back, we didn’t get chance to sample the wider menu in the hotel but will next time!
The apartment was excellent , very clean and comfortable and equipped with every utensil, gadget you could possibly need. Home from home. We know Chorley well and the location was perfect for visiting family and friends. It is an easy 10min walk to the town centre and all the amenities and a good base to visit Lancashire and the N West
Cockerham
You know what to expect with Diamond Resorts and Thurnham Hall is no exception. our studio apartment was big enough to spread out and enjoy the peace and quiet, The location is great for visits to all the sites of North Lancashire, you will not be disappointed.
My room was allocated in a very pleasant area of the hotel. All meals were of a very high standard well presented and delicious. The staff are absolutely professional with a typical Lancashire friendly twist which is such a delight.
Room was quite small but perfectly suitable for one or two nights. The staff were really kind and helpful. Breakfast was lovely and tasty. The location in the Lancashire countryside was beautiful as were the gardens of the hotel.
We have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions, visiting friends and family (we used to live in the area). Lancashire Manor works for us, its better than two relatively close alternative accommodation.
This is a really lovely place to stay. Really handy for day trips into the lakes or lancashire. The hotel itself is beautiful and the rooms were lovely. It's excellent value for momney too.
A comfy well-equipped room with a fabulous seaview and good location close to trams and the ferry. The hotel kept my bicycle safe and I recommend it to anyone cycling the Lancashire coast.
Welcoming and very helpful staff. The hotel has all you need for a short stay in a Lancashire village. 🌹 Beautiful walks on the doorstep, great food, hot showers and a comfortable bed. 😊
The hotel is situated in a breathtaking area of coastal Lancashire rarely heard of. The Mill is close to Glasson Dock, and guess what, it used to be a mill!
Breakfast was delicious Receptionist was very friendly and helpful Lovely little hotel in great location for the Lancashire countryside.
