- From $111.04 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.6Good - What previous guests thought, 1,191 reviewsBeautiful grade 1 listed hotel, some original stained glass windows leading up the stairs, 12 century church which you are able to look around and used for weddings etc.. Very comfy bed, tasty breakfast with many choices, beautiful grounds, and lovely helpful staff, the hotel has a long history and worth, researching. Sadly some reviews mention poor roof maintenance and draughty wood windows without understanding the rules these properties have in upkeep. When speaking to the receptionist they are very aware and are constantly looking to maintain the hotel to its former glory.Guest review byEllen KellettUnited Kingdom
- From $97.62 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 5.2Fair - What previous guests thought, 126 reviewsThe WiFi was passworded and worked well. Though rather spartan the room was clean, there was facility to make tea and coffee and unlike a far more expensive hotel I stayed in recently hot water readily came out of the hot tap and the shower. The room I had had big windows with plenty of light and quite an interesting view at tree top and rooftop level. It is only a few minutes walk away from the park and DeMontford Hall. Good pubs and restaurants very nearby.Guest review byGarryUnited Kingdom

We loved the mash-up of cultures in Leicester and had some delicious food on the famous Golden Mile. The Cathedral quarter and Lanes contain a large variety of independent shops, cafes and restaurants and all were within walking distance of our hotel. Like any city there were areas of deprivation, but the City had a relaxed and friendly feel and we felt right at home.Guest review byHowardUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We were pleased with the friendly and helpful staff on duty, after a delayed flight. Our room was spotless and very well appointed, enabling us to relax after a tiring journey and enjoy a uninterrupted sleep in the comfy bed and not having any overhead plane noise at all because of the triple glazed windows.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 6.0

We had dinner at pizzeria inferno, it was really the highlight. Service was great and had some seafood linguini that I am still thinking about, a week on. The town itself is as unremarkable as any town in the midlands. The current politics' events had it also covered in Union Jacks and St. George's Crosses. If that's your thing, you are in for a treat. No wonder Frodo and Sam preferred to walk for months into Mordor, to get out of the shire.Guest review byRubenUnited Kingdom - 8.0

My favorite place was Saint Mary's Church (Attention: only open from 12 to 2!!) with the monument of Wycliffe, the painings and its very special atmosphere. The exposition in HIGH POINT is very interesting too because of Wycliffe. I made a nice walk along the river Swift where Wycliffes bones have been burnt about 600 years ago. When you stay at Grey Hound Inn (with its great history) eating doesn't need te be a problem. They have everything for reasonable prices.Guest review byDickNetherlands - 10.0
Pretty little market town.
Pretty little market town. More upmarket than I was expecting with high-end fashion shops. Museum was interesting and there are lots of places to eat - from Spoons to Thai, Turkish and Tapas! We drove out several days to the Crick Boat Show, Rockingham Castle and some of the civil war battlefields.Guest review byDUnited Kingdom - 8.0

This is a nice little market town with everyone making an effort to show it at its best. An easy walk from the hotel. A number of restaurants and pubs serving food. Check how long kitchens are open on Sunday.Guest review byPeterUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Hotel rooms were clean and comfortable, good value for money. Nice place and friendly staff. However, the car park is full of pot holes and could cause a lot of damage to the car if you are unlucky enough to hit one!Guest review byJanUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Staff very friendly, room wonderful, food excellent but could ensure that we could be advised when food is out if stock instead of the poor waitress having to go backwards and forwards to find out what was available that evening!Guest review byCooke - 10.0

Picturesque, quiet and relaxing location for those who just need a pared-back and restful experience. This is a great place for lovely country drives, and accessible to other locations and cities if you need to get to them. The town is quiet and has amenities, shops, restaurants and whatever you may need during your stay. Friendly people make the experience much more pleasant and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend for a weekend getaway or a relaxing retreat.Guest review byDanielleUnited Kingdom
