Beautiful location. Wonderfully quaint castle. We drove a good distance out of our road to stay at the castle and it was more than worth it. Our only regret was that we didn't spend more time there.

All of the facilities are spot on as is the location. The food and drink was all great - we had an evening meal and breakfast. But most of all it's the attitude of the staff - so welcoming and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Fantastic. Thank you.

The location was excellent with plenty of onsite parking. All of the food and drinks we had were top notch. The staff were helpful and friendly. We were heading out for a potter around Skipton and a lovely lady gave us great recommendations of where to go. We had fantastic weather and were able to take advantage of the beautiful beer garden, though even if it had started to rain there were a number of cute little covered cabins for waiting out the rain in. The bed was super comfy and the shower was tall enough my 6'4" husband could comfortably stand under the rain shower head! We would absolutely stay here again and were sad to have to leave this incredibly charming place.

A lot of our enjoyment was weather dependent - beach, sea- open top buses £12 day pass for 5 of us ( one a 2 yr old). Grandson wanted to ride them all day - great way to travel from south to north bay and to visit Peasholme park. Attractive beach and backdrop - good to have beaches where dogs allowed but also where not allowed too. Attractive harbour where could get cheap short rides on 'pirate' boats out to sea. Sealife worth visiting esp on coastal open air train ride- log flume , boats and cafe etc at station. Variety of restaurants.

Whitby is very hilly so you need to be fairly fit to enjoy the town. Very picturesque around the harbour area. The abbey is a must to visit. My only negative was that there was too many dogs. The town appeared more dog friendly than children friendly.

We came for an overnight stay and wished we had booked longer. We booked the Turkish Baths in advance as a treat and would definitely recommend the treatments, we returned the following day to do the Turkish Baths. Best to book as we would of liked the two together but it was really good. Lots of lovely places to eat .

    Skipton exceeded our expectations.

Skipton exceeded our expectations. We were only there for the weekend for a celebration of a wedding. We got a day to explore. So much on offer! Canal boat trips, walks, castle local market on in the High Street. Lots of winding alleys to sweet independent shops and bakeries. More bars and pubs and cafes than I've seen anywhere! Beautiful Town Hall with a fantastic little museum that was great for kids too, with lots of interesting hands on experiences. I highly recomend a visit. Great 'Makers Market' going on too in the hall. A super base to see the Dale's and surrounding area.

This is a lovely and picturesque town in the incomparably lovely Yorkshire dales. There is a lovely market square with nice shops and restaurants, a fabulous Georgean theatre, a terrific castle to explore, and a nearby ruined abby that is an easy walk from the centre of town. (Every town needs a ruined abbey, right?)

We weren't there long enough to really get to know the village (town?) but it looked as if there were some interesting walks for the dogs, an interesting river, birdwatching oportunities etc, and quite a few pubs for a place that size! Always a good shout. It also lacked a really busy main road cutting through (at least, from where we were staying) so not much traffic noise and easy to get about without getting knocked down!
