- From $318.48 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 544 reviewsWords really fail me to explain how special this property was. The attention to every single detail was exquisite. I’m a professional organizer. My business is details. I’ve never seen anything like this. Everything - even the lights on the floor that automatically come on when you walk into the bathroom - was planned perfectly when this former convent was remodeled to make a sacred space for all its guests. There was even framed sheet music in the halls to, I assume, pay homage to the beautiful music that must’ve once graced the hallways. The staff was so warm and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was like something out of a Veranda magazine spread. The breakfast was delicious. At every turn in the hotel and the room itself, we were met with a delightful and unexpected experience. Who puts this much thought into a public space? The Cookie Jar does. You made our once-in-a-lifetime trip unforgettable.Guest review byThe OCD BacheloretteUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very Good - What previous guests thought, 178 reviewsThe facilities are fantastic, everything you need is on site. Toilets were clean and shower blocks were of a good size and ideal for camping. Picnic benches are a lovely touch. If you have a car you can easily drive to holy island, bamburgh and other beautiful beaches. We had breakfast on our last day which was just right. All staff were friendly and helpful. Ideal place for families, but me and my partner enjoyed it just as much on our own. I would come here again 😊Guest review bySarahUnited Kingdom

Hexham is a beautiful market town, a place where people live and work - not touristy but with everything a tourist might want e.g. cafes, restaurants, arts events, a cinema. Great public transport connections to Newcastle and Carlisle. Exceptional countryside - Hadrian's Wall of course, but don't forget the North Pennines for remote wild walks.Guest review byKateUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A historic and interesting small town - was a staging post on the Great North Road, hence it's closeness to the current A1. Also on East Coast main railway line so easy access. Free disc parking in town car parks and a good range of shops both national brands and local. Lidl and Morrisons supermarkets quite central. Lovely park with paddling pool and playground with old motte and bailey mound still there. Boating on the river in summer. Small castle but is a private residence. Close to Cragside and Wallington National trust properties and beach at Newbiggin. Northumberland Zoo nearby and well worth a visit with children. Could go on but will finish there with a would recommend comment!Guest review byGrahamUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Bamburgh is a small but very pretty place with an amazing castle and stunning beach. There are plenty of places to eat and drink and it is a great place to stay for anyone wishing to relax, enjoy the beach or to visit Lindisfarne. The local seafood is very good. We especially enjoyed the seafood sharing platter at The Middle Inn. We also enjoyed The Lord Crewe for an evening drink.Guest review byCarlUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Wooler is the perfect base to explore so much of wonderful Northumberland. The Cheviot hills are on your doorstep, literally walking distance and it is very easy to get to the coast, Lindesfarne and many other places just 30 minutes drive away. A small market town with a high street packed with great shops, pubs, takeaways and cafes; we recommend the Terrace cafe for excellent all day breakfasts and great coffee . The town is particularly good for those who like browsing antique and bric a brac shops, there was even an Auction when we were there.Guest review byHeskiaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

There was a village store in the centre and easy access to local beaches by car. Five well-known castles are also accessible by car all within half an hour - Alnwick, Warkworth, Chillingham, Bamburgh and Dunstanburgh. Boat trips to see the seals and puffins are from Seahouses which is about 8 miles away.Guest review byStephenUnited Kingdom - 10.0
