Matt was the most welcoming and helpful host. The Ocean Mist was so unique to stay in and was extremely well maintained. We enjoyed settling in with a drink on the upper deck. The night host Danny couldn't do enough to ensure we had an extremely early breakfast before our flight. Highly recommended.

Lovely room, spacious and tastefully decorated. Bathroom is big and with a nice shower. Loved the desk as I was travelling for wok so it was nice to have a sturdy, large area to work at without feeling like I was cramped in a corner. Buffet breakfast is generous and very tasty, and everyone was very helpful and polite. I asked to check-in early and reception was kind enough to let me do so. Excellent location and lots of amenities around.

Edinburgh is a beautiful city with a unique mix of history and charm. I really enjoyed walking through the old streets, exploring the castle, and taking in the stunning views from Calton Hill. The atmosphere feels both lively and cozy, with plenty of nice cafés and pubs to relax in. It’s definitely a place I’d love to visit again.

    Buildings in need of whitewash.

Buildings in need of whitewash. Gorgeous architecture but the drunkards in the streets and the lack of sanitation ( rubbish lying around ) brings the city down. There’s a feeling they could be great but can’t be bothered. People seem to lack ambition or direction. Super wealthy living there behind closed doors. Gorgeous indoor spaces, but only accessible to people with money. Needs a lot of work to become a world city which is a shame considering that after Liverpool it was the 2nd wealthiest city in the uk at one point.

I love Fort William, the area with the Loch right in front is stunning. There are some great little pubs to eat and have a drink, and a good amount of restarunts to choose from. There are hotels to B and Bs to stay. It is small with a lot of tourists from all over the world. It is a good base to drive and see some great country side.

    Amazing!

Amazing! A must see place full of history and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Didn’t want to leave. Stunning views from the top of Stirling Castle, Stirling Jail’s Observation Tower and the William Wallace Monument. Free shuttle bus every few minutes up to the monument and free to view from the outside. All historical attractions worth a visit for the view as well as the history. Stirling old town available to see on foot. Easy distance from restaurants and pubs too. Lots of nice restaurants to choose from. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Scotland. Allow 3-4 days and allow 2.5 hours for Stirling Castle.

Aviemore has a great buzz about it – a proper gateway to the Cairngorms with a strong tourist vibe that makes it feel lively year-round. The high street is packed with outdoor shops, from big names like Ellis Brigham and Tiso to smaller independents, so whether you’re after hiking boots, ski gear or a new waterproof, you’re well catered for. There’s also a good mix of cafés, pubs and restaurants, which keeps the place welcoming after a day outdoors. It’s the kind of town where you instantly feel in “holiday mode,” with a steady flow of visitors giving it energy without losing its Highland charm.
