- From $330.83 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 520 reviewsWe want a hotel that was something special as we were celebrating with friends, a special anniversary and birthday. This hotel fitted the bill. The locations attracted us to this hotel, having a sea view and being able to hear the sea when sleeping was so relaxing. The hotel had a relaxed feeling with lovely decor and furniture with lovely artwork on the walls. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful (nothing was too much trouble) in particular the waitress who served us at dinner and breakfast was most helpful, curious, respectfully with a friendly manner and this was Alesha. (I'm sure other staff were just as helpful and pleasant) The food was topnotch with a good selection of dishes, it was well cooked, presented, tasty and hot. Even had the choice of being able to change some elements of the dish if there was something we didn't like. We didn't have to wait too long for our food to arrive at the table after ordering. Plenty of comfortable seating areas, with sofas and chairs, giving a panoramic view of the bay. The bar was fairly well stocked only one small negative was they offered only 2 cocktails, where we tried one but disappointed with it (a peach drink with prosecco) There is a swimming pool of adequate size with a jacuzzi, this is situated a short walk in the hotel grounds, my only criticism is that the changing room is very small with no cubicle to change, and the area in where you get changed if right in front of the door so if anyone opens the door, to go in, from the passage way to the entrance to the pool, potentially a stranger can see straight in as you're getting undressed/dressed. The double room is smaller than I've found with similar hotels, but the view does compensate for some of this. There is a kettle with the choice of tea, coffee or hot chocolate, however no fruit teas. There was a compliment can of water for each person but this was just the first day, other day would be paid for.Guest review byClarkeUnited Kingdom

- From $139.65 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very Good - What previous guests thought, 3,225 reviewsThe staff were very accommodating, we were travelling with our dog and had reserved a dog friendly room. The room contained a dog bed for our dog to use while we stayed there and a little gift bag for our dog including treats. It was almost as if dogs were "welcomed" instead of being seen as a hindrance. We appreciated them making us feel at home.Guest review byFergusonUnited Kingdom

Pretty Village focused around a railway station within a...
Pretty Village focused around a railway station within a steep sided valley. Several camping / outdoor shops but don't expect bargains as the prices are similar or even slightly higher than elsewhere due to the "captive audience" of people in the area to enjoy the outdoors. Many eating out options, most of which are also hotels and offer broadly similar menus of "pub grub" / "grill" type food. Also a very popular Indian restaurant and a couple of Pizza places, and one Tapas. The Chinese was closed when we visited. If you prefer to self cater there is a Spar and a Londis with a decent bakery within the Spar. We visited at the end of the school holiday season and we thought all the food places were surprisingly quiet except the Pizza place in the station, the curry house and the Royal Oak hotel. There also didn't seem to be any sign of "nightlife" to speak of, even on Friday night (maybe people are too tired after outdoor activities?). Some establishments only opened Friday and Saturday nights. Its a good base for the area being at the junction of two main road routes. You can also walk straight out of the village with several way marked routes of varying difficulty, or just doing your own map reading. You can easily spend a day browsing the shops and cafes and taking in the pretty Pont-y-Pair and river rapids. However by day two, you will probably be ready to explore further.Guest review byBenjaminUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Conwy is a busy friendly town.
Conwy is a busy friendly town. It has lovely shops, delicatessen, pubs, cafes and restaurants. The harbour is at the bottom end of the High Street where you will find the smallest house and river cruises. There is a lovely coastal walk to the marina from the harbour. The railway station and bus services are excellent.Guest review byPamelaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I loved exploring the interesting and quirky areas of the village and investigating its history. A very thought provoking place to visit! The accommodation added to this and so did the kindness of all of the staff, who were very helpful as I had never visited Portmerion before.Guest review byLauraUnited Kingdom - 6.0

A small, compact city that's a little run-down and in need of some government cash to bring more people in. We've never been in such a quiet city centre on a Saturday night; plenty of pubs, not enough people! So many Turkish barbers, so few decent restaurants...and no hotels! Plenty of take-out eateries, but that's not what tourists need! Lovely setting, Welsh government: you're missing out on tourism in Bangor, so splash the cash and glam it up...decent restaurants, a couple of hotels and a modern bar or two. The city should be very grateful for the Black Bull, JD Wetherspoon's, the only busy pub in town!Guest review byAnnetteUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Bala is a lovely town at the end of the lake.
Bala is a lovely town at the end of the lake. It seems to consist mainly of one high Street with various shops, pubs and eateries. The lake is beautiful. We hired a double kayak which cost 40.00ph and the whole hiring process was super easy. We also did the steam train ride along the lake which was lovely. There's lots more to explore so I'd definitely go back for a couple of days and explore the area some more.Guest review bysueUnited Kingdom
