Of course there is the football stadium, a very fine sight...
Of course there is the football stadium, a very fine sight now that is has been rejuvenated and the two statues of Ramsey and Robson (outside and a reminder that no other club has provided England with two international managers straight from domestic success, one even managed the World Cup winning team) as well as that of Kevin Beattie add to the sense of honour. Beyond that there is the modest but impressive splendour of Christchurch Mansion set in the verdant Christchurch Park, historic buildings like The Ancient House with its characterful pargeting, the much improved dockside area and residents who usually take time to get to know but are worth the effort. In short, it's like a human version of Norwich...Guest review byOldvelle VagueUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Lowestof is a nice place to visit, and even in August it was not very busy at all. The beaches there are really good for families and children as the sand is very clean. Not too sure about swimming in the North Sea, but some brave souls did !. Good selection of places to eat, and a great surprise was finding a Wimpy - Best burgers ever ;-)Guest review byMarkUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Clean and tidy town. Excellent public toilets. Good variety of independent shops. Very interesting architecture and well thought out newer developments. Fascinating insight into the early development of the town. Excellent, clean beaches and a thriving sailing community. We will certainly visit againGuest review byCaroleSpain - 10.0

Hotel situated in the town, which is always busy, no matter what day. A good mix of cafes, shops and hotels. It's a 2mins walk to the beach with many pubs around. Would highly recommend the Adnams Lighthouse tour.. was about 1hr long with a very knowledgeable and amusing guide. Been back here a few times and never disappointed.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

It's a small town so easy to navigate. Lots of restaurants and pubs but a bit pricey. Lovely selection of shops, especially independent ones. Good base for exploring the area eg Dunwich, Southwold, Orford and Snape. Beach was shingle which was disappointing but it was clean.Guest review byAmanda - 10.0

Long Melford is in a wonderful location and is ideally placed for touring the area of both Suffolk and parts of Essex. It is an interesting place to stroll around itself with its small independent shops, tearooms and hostelries . Places to visit include Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge, Southwold on the coast , Sudbury, Clare and Colchester or just casually drive around the area to visit lovely sleepy villages with thatch cottages in abundance.Guest review byAnonymousUnited Kingdom - 10.0
