Pretty much faultless. Rooms are tastefully decorated, modern, warm and comfortable with a large walk-in shower. The property is in a beautiful location on the South Downs, very quiet and scenic, a great base for walkers whilst not being too far away from the town of Lewes. Staff are super friendly and helpful too. The standard of food in the restaurant is exceptionally high. Very nice to have a quality meal after a long day and stumble upstairs to your room. The included breakfast was the best I've been served and puts the big name London hotels to shame.

Lovely seaside town. Not too busy with tourists and train service to larger seaside resorts running throughout the day. Lovely places to grab a coffee or food. Really enjoyed dinner in Bentley's Steakhouse and the Picnic Basket does really good affordable breakfasts. Lots of other eateries along the sea front and lovely views from De Warr Pavilion if you fancy stopping there for a coffee.

Battle is a pretty little town and very compact.

Battle is a pretty little town and very compact. The Abbey and battle ground is good to see as it is a major part of this country's history. However, if you opt to walk around the battlefield make sure you make use of the free audio guide as this brings the history to life as opposed to just looking at a field. The Abbey/battlefield and town can be done in a day, but it is a good idea to have an overnight stay so that you can pace yourself and fully enjoy the place.
