Great place plenty to do and go see titanic experience was fantastic public transport was great and easy to use little Italian nearby called sporanza served really tasty meals at great prices ulster museum is a must for a visit
Not the most attractive of cities. However the friendly welcome of the people was the most beautiful experience of the entire holiday. I would highly recommend the Ulster Museum and a guided taxi tour of the falls road etc Our guide Nigel was brilliant his knowledge of the Troubles was second to none. Can i also suggest where ever you eat do try the wheaten bread scummy!
So much to see. We took a 2-1/2 hour walking tour and saw more than expected but felt there was still so much more we could've seen (but only had one full day)--always a next time! Would highly recommend Ulster Museum; it's outstanding and we only had about an hour to explore this incredible place.
We only had an afternoon to see and do. We chose the Ulster Museum which is free! Execellent display of the "Troubles" in Ireland. Interesting for those of us who only heard about it on the news across the pond. Ate at a great Fish & Chips place across the street from the Crescent Hotel. Public transportation is easy to navigate and quite convenient. Wish we had more time to explore and experience more of what Belfast has to offer. Need to plan to stay longer next time.
Belfast is my second home. Everytime I visit, I never want to leave. I love Hudson's chicken wings. Goodfella's for pizza, and getting a chippy in the middle of the night. I love three pound movies on tuesdays. I love Lavery's bar and their comedy nights. I love walking around town and just looking at the people. I love Shine nights for nights out or wetherspoons or madison's when you want a chill bar experience. I love just sitting and hanging out at friend's houses. If you are a tourist, visit the dome in Victoria square, go to the Ulster museum, visit where the titanic was built, take the bus or cab tour so you can see the wall of murals and go out at night.
It can be a little dingy in places, but there are a lot of interesting things to see and do. Transport is pretty good between buses and suburban rail. Between late opening shops and restaurants, it's not hard to find somewhere to eat. My favourite places to visit were Queen's University, the Botanic Gardens, Ulster Museum and the Linen Hall Library.
We enjoyed exploring the Ulster American Folk Park. It is an easy drive for a day trip to Belfast.
Clean, friendly felt comfortable in the city Titanic, ulster museum On & off bus great way to see city and for further destinations Enjoyed having breakfast at the hotel
Belfast and the surrounding area was fantastic even in the wet winter weather. Small enough to walk with many places to visit including the Ulster museum, Titanic Quarter and HMS Caroline. Coast was stunning.
Really nice updated 2 bedroom apartment on a quiet street near Belfast Hospital. We had a little difficulty finding the street but that was true of many places we stayed in Ireland and Northern Ireland. Big plus was easy, available parking. This unit had the best shower of anywhere we stayed on our trip. Walking distance to restaurants, shops, etc. All in all a great place to stay in Belfast. Nearby I would recommend a trip to the Ulster Museum for a crash course in the history of Ireland from the arrival of man to the troubles.
Amazing location right beside titanic museum, and W5, we are vertigo so ideal for a family break. Lovely historical references and artefacts are dotted around and the building restoration has been very in keeping with original use. The Hotel bar in original draft/drawing room is stunning and serves excellent cocktails, which we found reasonable given the surroundings. Breakfast was self service buffet style with good selection of cold cuts and cheese, cereal, Fruit and of course all components of ulster fry.
Belfast
The apartment is lovely, cosy and very warm with underfloor heating! We were very happy with our stay! The location is exceptional as it is literally near everything...Botanical Gardens & Ulster Museum 4 mins away...Botanic Avenue with its beautiful little shops 2 mins away...the main hub of the city was 5 mins on a cab and about 15mins walk. We will certainly be back again...this apartment is a real gem!!!! Love how the host was checking up on us too 🙂
Lisburn
it was way over my wxpectations. Its a guesthouse/bed and breakfast looking but they had the most like a normal hotel would have. Even a hair drier hehe! I am a fussy person but for this low price a super ulster fry was included every morning and everything was charming and personal. the room was cute and lovely. The garden too. The staff was very patience and location is great. I love Northern Ireland and I love this family owned motel/guesthouse.
Newtownstewart
We stayed in this lovely townhouse for a short break with our kids! We had visited Santa at Ulster American folk park! Very enjoyable and the house was perfect for our family! Nice takeaway across the road, a pub and shop and atm all a stone throw away! Our family gave up on hotels as it’s just not enjoyable anymore with the kids! Lots of space in this house to chill and the kids just loved it too, Netflix and TVs in each room
Beautiful area lovely hosts, very family run, Bill and Joyce were lovely. It was very quiet and peaceful location. We thought it was excellent value, the day after we had a hotel that was twice the price which, which was very disappointing in comparison. Bill and Joyce’s was A short few minutes drive to Omagh and a lovely drive up to the Ulster museum and Gortin Glen park. We would go again and recommend it to anyone.
Belcoo
For a reasonable price I had a whole apartment with a good amount of space, cooking facilities, fridge, easy chairs etc.. Good location near food shop (has coffee machine) and bar (Maguires which served me a good evening meal). On the Ulster Way long distance walk. As the key was obtained with a code, I did not have to worry about arriving at a specific time, although the owner happened to drive by when I arrived.
Tara Lodge is an extraordinarily well-located hotel, right in the centre of the Botanic area. The hotel itself is friendly, warm and comfortable and I found myself relaxing from the minute I entered the place. The car park is so convenient, the staff are super friendly and helpful and it's within reach of so many attractions, particularly Queens and the Ulster Museum. Wonderful!
I liked the location in the Cathedral Quarter by the waterfront. There is now a good mix of old and new architecture, and there is a sense of regeneration because Ulster University has new student housing here. There are new coffee shops and restaurants. Next time, I look forward to trying some Bangladeshi fiine cuisine right around the corner from this hotel.
I stayed at this Hotel over 24 thru 27 December as a Christmas holiday, and the breakfasts were very nice, Ulster fry with a selection of cereal, juice, tea and coffee. The staff were very nice and friendly. Also, on Christmas Day I had booked a Christmas Buffet for 6.30pm, so I thought Happy Days.
Great location to Ulster Hall, travel hubs and food outlets. 24/7 reception staff is great. Tea and coffee facilities always available. Room very clean and comfortable. Quiet considering location and easy check in and out. Recommend this hotel to family and friends. Great two day stay.
The proximity of the hotel from the Airport. The breakfast was amazing in my opinion. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a Ulster fry and it ticked all the boxes. And the staff were very helpful pleasant and a credit to their employer.
A very cosy boutique hotel in a magnificent setting on shores of Strangford Lough. Woke to a fabulous crisp clear sunny morning. Staff were very welcoming & helpful. Breakfast was a big plate of Ulsters best.
Bright, modern hotel set in really pleasant countryside. Accessible to Belfast and Ards Peninsula. Great location for touring the countryside or visiting Belfast. Close to Ulster Folk Park and Mount Stewart.
Magherafelt
Stunning, beautifully well equipped apartment in the heart of Mid Ulster. An absolute fabulous home from home with every comfort you could possibly need. 3rd visit this time and we will be back.
It was indifferent: I expected an Ulster Fry cooked to order with puddings etc. and was served some food that had quite obviously been kept warm and was dried out. No wheaten bread on offer.
Very reasonable price, exceptionally good value. Very high standards, cleanliness is a priority and a super breakfast combination of buffet and Ulster fry, what more could anyone desire.
Comber
Modern hotel with pleasant rooms named after US presidents with Ulster heritage. we were put in the Jackson room which was a nice touch. Friendly host and nice breakfast.
I liked the decor of the room very cosy. Hotel was also right next to the Europa bus station, which was very handy. I also liked the Ulster fry for breakfast.
Portstewart
Basically everything else about the hotel. Location, lovely bedroom, friendly staff, central to everything and a great Ulster fry in the morning.
