We had dinner at Le Dragon Rouge and we all declared it was the best food we had during our entire trip! Kudos to the chef. Likewise the staff were friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and the old-fashioned elevator a real adventure to use.Guest review byAmandaUnited States

Cardiff Bay is lovely a great regeneration project, although there is quite a lot more building going on. Cardiff Castle is well worth a visit. Local buses and trains are excellent. St Fagans is well worth the bus trip, we could really have done with having 2 days there to look round, and it's FREE!Guest review byPrice - 10.0
This is a super seaside town.
This is a super seaside town. There are two beaches - a quiet one on West Shore and the main beach with its long promenade and the pier. The hotels around the curved bay are beautifully designed and all kept in good condition. Behind the hotels is Mostyn Street with an excellent collection of national and local shops - a very vibrant high street which is unusual these days. The choice of places to eat is amazing. Llandudno is also a great base from which to explore North Wales.Guest review byLorraineUnited Kingdom - 4.0
Swansea is on the coastline, it should be enjoyable.
Swansea is on the coastline, it should be enjoyable. I didn't see any beaches though, just brown sand and lots of rocks by the ocean. Every time I stepped out and I only went to a Tesco superstore near the Marina, I was followed and hounded by clueless and delusional creeps selling drugs, which is illegal. They would stink up the areas I was walking by with Marijuana; it was disgusting! I wish I had visited the Swansea Marina, the ruins from the Castle and the waterfall. The bad guys were everywhere including in the places I stayed. I wanted to buy a new handbag and some electronics but I felt nauseated at the prospect of going out, so I didn't buy anything. From one of the apartments I stayed, I could see people walking to participate in the Scavenger Hunts they had during the summer. There was also an event at a parking lot across the street that I decided not to go for safety reasons. Traveling is certainly no longer the fun it used to be.Guest review byEva ReginaUnited States - 10.0
Other seaside towns could learn a lot from Tenby.
Other seaside towns could learn a lot from Tenby. Heritage is very important and keeping the older multi coloured properties in such superb order pays visual dividends. It is both quaint and modern , with a bustling centre full of places to eat and go. The Italians are both great , The Cove is bright modern but good for socialising and eating.Tenby fish and chips are superb. We didn't have time to sample all the inviting hostelries and cafes unfortunately. So much choice in the sweet and cake shops! We thoroughly support the timed pedestrianisation of the town centre - great way to give people room to move but still give vital vehicle access. A beautiful town to explore - don't miss the Castle beach! Or the Harbour Brewery - fascinating when open for viewing. The town felt safe and was for the most part clean and tidy. Parking is an issue- be careful when using the expensive central car park - it's privately owned and enforced rigidly. The multi storey is both ugly and uninviting with tight bays, but at least it's not far from the town. The one ways can be confusing and often you have to go backwards to get to where you want to go ( if that makes sense!) But Tenby is a gem , unspoilt and picturesque , we love it.Guest review byAnthonyUnited Kingdom - 8.0
A nice place with an excellent shopping centre.
A nice place with an excellent shopping centre. Disappointed with the lack of green areas in the centre. People, including shop staff, were very nice and helpful. However it was difficult to find somewhere to eat what we like (traditional English meals). Ended up with tasteless junk takeaway. We did not bring transport but did not need to go anywhere that was not walkable, other than we would have liked to have found a suitable eatery nearer the city centre, because we have a dog and even if allowed, he does not travel well on buses. We are not a young couple and it looked like there was little for us to do in the evenings.Guest review byTomUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Beautiful view, captivating scenery with local hikes and walks available. I loved the ride on the steam train from Aberystwyth to Devils Bridge. As a solo traveller for the first time I was nervous about eating out so enjoyed fish and chips on the pier instead.Guest review bySuzyUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Pretty Village focused around a railway station within a...
Pretty Village focused around a railway station within a steep sided valley. Several camping / outdoor shops but don't expect bargains as the prices are similar or even slightly higher than elsewhere due to the "captive audience" of people in the area to enjoy the outdoors. Many eating out options, most of which are also hotels and offer broadly similar menus of "pub grub" / "grill" type food. Also a very popular Indian restaurant and a couple of Pizza places, and one Tapas. The Chinese was closed when we visited. If you prefer to self cater there is a Spar and a Londis with a decent bakery within the Spar. We visited at the end of the school holiday season and we thought all the food places were surprisingly quiet except the Pizza place in the station, the curry house and the Royal Oak hotel. There also didn't seem to be any sign of "nightlife" to speak of, even on Friday night (maybe people are too tired after outdoor activities?). Some establishments only opened Friday and Saturday nights. Its a good base for the area being at the junction of two main road routes. You can also walk straight out of the village with several way marked routes of varying difficulty, or just doing your own map reading. You can easily spend a day browsing the shops and cafes and taking in the pretty Pont-y-Pair and river rapids. However by day two, you will probably be ready to explore further.Guest review byBenjaminUnited Kingdom - 10.0
