In some cities with a strong tourism-based economy, the urban system, social activities, and people are all adapted to visitors. What I encountered in Tbilisi, however, was a city where people made little effort to interact with non-locals. They would easily withdraw when facing tourists, and even activities like selling goods or earning income from tourism did not seem appealing to them. The city itself had old walls covered in graffiti. The locals appeared indifferent to their own history and culture. For instance, during a demonstration in front of the parliament, the stone walls of the building had been spray-painted, even though the police had completely secured the streets, and children were playing football right in the middle of the road. It was a strange and interesting experience. The hotel: the staff, you can feel that they care for your comfortable vacation. they are so welcoming, especially the lady with short haircut whose name I cant remember, let us know every detail about the hotel when we called for information, then when we arrived, she met us with a warm welcome and said they could upgrade us so we could stay on the upper floor, bigger hotel room, not a budget one that we have booked. Other members of the staff were also very helpful, with smile on their faces everywhere: in the gaming zone, in the reception, the building itself: facilities:indoor swimming pool with outdoor terrace with a beautiful garden and comfy outdoor furniture. Pool is crystal clean, water temperature is warm enough to enjoy swimming even from the first seconds. What is also very important: nobody interrupts you while enjoying your vacation: no loud sounds, you have all the privacy, so you can relax. You have so many things to do here! Even if the weather is bad, you can enjoy your stay: Gaming space: Billiards, bowling, air hockey, table tennis, virtual games, cinema, indoor swimming pool with window on a part of its ceiling, terrace with beautiful garden and nice, not very loud music. Beautiful nature near the hotel: central park is on walking distance (although not very comfortable walk as it is on the central road), but when you come to the park, you can enjoy the forrest-like quiet park with big trees🌲🌲, children can enjoy climbing and other facilities, football stadium. The city is nice and the nature but people are so rude and racist. They charged everything overpriced. They know you are a tourist and the prices increase immediately. We use bolt for transportation. I booked 3 days in April for hiking and it was great. There are 5+ trails available: - Azeula fortress (8km round trip), - Ghoubani (11.2 km round trip), - Udzo - Turtle Lake - Tbilisi (12 km one way), - Azureti (~10 km one way), - Kiketi (11 km one way). Routes are very clearly indicated. During April there are no restaurants/cafes either in hotel or Kojori at al. But there are several supermarkets to buy food.
