When we arrived, we stood in the front of the new building. We get a friendly welcome, nice room and walked to the beach. I walked around and checked the pool areas and dine opportunities. I really was surprised that everything looked same like pictures and descrition. I like that is a hotel size between Boutique Hotel and grand Resort. If you are looking for a Hotel with good chill opportunities and good food, thats your place. We loved the food (try the Gyros Chicken and Mussels which are cooked in Uzo), furnishing style, pool and beach area, employees (Eleni by the Pool area, very friendly women) and the vibes of all of them😀 You are really close to Heraklion City, 10min by taxi around 15Euro per way and 20min to the airport around 30Euro per way. Spa Massage first 10min are for free, we booked 30min more (40min) was also really good. The a la Carte restaurant was a dream of location and ambience, also food with ***** level. The staff are incredibly friendly and do their absolute best to ensure your stay is memorable, especially Nicolas. The restaurant has good food and one of the best sunset views you will experience. The rooms are well-equipped, clean, and very functional. I recommend getting a room with a view, as the sunsets are breathtaking. The town was buzzing and full of life. Some excellent restaurants (peskesi a stand out) Beaches were stunning especially when blessed with perfect summer weather. Amazing Resort and extensive facilities on site. Staff are amazing. Also one of the best mani/pedi I ever had at the salon. Resort is about 30 minutes from airport, and would say for a 5* Europe resort, this lives up to expectation, but don't compare to a 5* Caribbean or Mexico Resort, so bear that in mind. We stayed at the Ocean view room which had spectacular views. The Rocky beach was just fantastic with the lounges and beds, and considering how busy this resort is, never noticed it and never felt overcrowded, and you never had to reserve benches or lounges by the beach or pool, there was more than enough to go round and even more spare. A la Carte restaurants that were amazing and my favourites are Umi (Sushi), Azzuro (Italian), Thalassa for breakfast & lunch, Poseidon. A real let down of the restaurants was Nami, only delicious items were the Starters. Best place to stay when in Crete if you are looking for a mix of relaxation at the beach and exploring the island. Great sandy beaches, cool beach bars, beautiful old town filled with vibrant clubs and restaurants. The town is ideally placed so that you can rent a car, pay for an excursion or even use public transport (which is beautufly organised) to explore wild beaches but Chania and Heraklion as well.Guest review byMiljanSerbia - 10.0

Agios Nikolaos is a beautiful, clean, and very friendly little city. The central hub is around the pretty lake and harbour, the south of which leads to the cruise ship port (best avoided). The north, which is more residential, is where we found the best beach, restaurants, bars, and supermarkets. There's not a huge amount to do if (like us) you don't drive - technically Knossos is in reach by a 50min taxi or almost 2 hours on buses, which would've been too much of a stretch in the 30C+ heat. However, the local museum has loads of interesting artefacts (just beware it closes at 15:30), and the nearby olive farm that has animals and does free tastings and cooking and pottery workshops (workshops need to be booked in advance) was a highlight of our trip. We ended up spending loads in the very reasonably priced shop. There's also some decent boat trips on offer, depending on how much you want to pay. We did one of the main cruises up to Spinalonga island, which is well worth a visit (just be aware that it's not very accessible, especially if you want to climb to the top), and the semi sub boat trip was great fun. If you're looking for a party town then look elsewhere, but if you want to chill out and enjoy some amazing food and drink then Agios is a hidden gem.Guest review byKeithUnited Kingdom - 10.0

However, there didn't seem to be many places to eat [not a problem for us as there was one excellent place, though would be a problem peak season] .
