The town was buzzing and full of life. Some excellent restaurants (peskesi a stand out) Beaches were stunning especially when blessed with perfect summer weather. Amazing Resort and extensive facilities on site. Staff are amazing. Also one of the best mani/pedi I ever had at the salon. Resort is about 30 minutes from airport, and would say for a 5* Europe resort, this lives up to expectation, but don't compare to a 5* Caribbean or Mexico Resort, so bear that in mind. We stayed at the Ocean view room which had spectacular views. The Rocky beach was just fantastic with the lounges and beds, and considering how busy this resort is, never noticed it and never felt overcrowded, and you never had to reserve benches or lounges by the beach or pool, there was more than enough to go round and even more spare. A la Carte restaurants that were amazing and my favourites are Umi (Sushi), Azzuro (Italian), Thalassa for breakfast & lunch, Poseidon. A real let down of the restaurants was Nami, only delicious items were the Starters. Reth is our favourite holiday town.
Reth is our favourite holiday town. We like a bustly town for 2 weeks and this is just right. Lots of restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, so plenty to do. We like the fact that it is not a loud party town. The beach is fantastic with each restaurant having their own section of sunbeds - we used Gorgona beach / restaurant - 2 sunbeds and umbrella is 12 euros which is remarkably cheap when we were paying 25 euros at least in Spain and Portugal. You can bring your own food and drink there but can also have beach service or eat in the restaurant, so nice to have the freedom. There is a wonderful supermarket next to the restaurant which sells english papers, magazines, pots of fresh fruit, sandwiches, plus everything else you might need. There is also a wonderful supermarket further along called Fresh Corner which has a good selection of cakes, sandwiches, pizza, fresh juices etc which you can take down to the beach. The sea is very shallow and sandy - it can be a bit windy some days and then the waves are quite big and powerful but ususally the sea is very flat and calm. The open top bus tour is good - 20 euros each but you can hop and off all day and visits the various sites around the town. It takes 90 mins to do the whole route without getting off. The dotto train is fun - 10 euros each - takes 45 mins. The castle is a good place to visit. There is a market twice a week Thursday and Saturday. Thursday it is up by the park on the main road, Sat it is next to the bus station. Its quite small considering the size of the town but has a mix of fruit, veg, clothes etc. There are lots of boat trips you can book. Great selection of bars, restaurants, cafes - with a good mix of cheap kebab type places or traditional food.Guest review bySuzanneUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Agios Nikolaos is a beautiful, clean, and very friendly little city. The central hub is around the pretty lake and harbour, the south of which leads to the cruise ship port (best avoided). The north, which is more residential, is where we found the best beach, restaurants, bars, and supermarkets. There's not a huge amount to do if (like us) you don't drive - technically Knossos is in reach by a 50min taxi or almost 2 hours on buses, which would've been too much of a stretch in the 30C+ heat. However, the local museum has loads of interesting artefacts (just beware it closes at 15:30), and the nearby olive farm that has animals and does free tastings and cooking and pottery workshops (workshops need to be booked in advance) was a highlight of our trip. We ended up spending loads in the very reasonably priced shop. There's also some decent boat trips on offer, depending on how much you want to pay. We did one of the main cruises up to Spinalonga island, which is well worth a visit (just be aware that it's not very accessible, especially if you want to climb to the top), and the semi sub boat trip was great fun. If you're looking for a party town then look elsewhere, but if you want to chill out and enjoy some amazing food and drink then Agios is a hidden gem.Guest review byKeithUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Kissamos offered us a wonderful mix of relaxation and local charm. The nightlife was a pleasant surprise, with cozy bars and lively tavernas where we enjoyed delicious food and drinks. Evening walks through the town square and the nearby streets filled with local shops and traditional products were some of the highlights of our stay. However, there didn't seem to be many places to eat [not a problem for us as there was one excellent place, though would be a problem peak season] .
