What a beautiful place.
What a beautiful place. What makes it even better is the welcoming locals from wait staff to barristers, shop assistants, taxi drivers and everyone else. They truly are beautiful people. I enjoyed many outings in different parts of the island and on the water, it was just a pleasure to be there. I’m really glad I had this experienced. I hope to be back soon.Guest review byIreneAustralia - 10.0

Sami was my favourite location on Kephalonia...I scooted round the island but feel Sami is the most laid back. I liked the bit of beach where the locals swam. The food was good at all the restaurants and I particularly enjoyed drinking in the evening at the blues bar. The only thing that tainted my stay was when on the last day just before I was about to drop my scooter off the police pulled me over for not having an helmet on...and gave me a huge fine of £335. Man all the locals were scooting round without helmets...how come I got whacked? Nice place thoughGuest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Lovely village.
Lovely village. It's a popular yachting harbour and I think this makes it a bit more expensive than the rest of the island. We swam at Fiko bay which is about a kilometre from where we were staying. Nice and reasonably priced taverna here, though you need to book for the evening.Guest review byAlastairUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Lots of choice of bars and restaurants all manned by super friendly staff and food was excellent. Everything was close together along with some restaurants overlooking the lovely Sandy beach which stretched for miles. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and had several day trips out exploring everything this beautiful island had to offer. Would definitely recommend a visit.Guest review byGeorginaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
It is so pretty, still has it's traditional Greek charm.
It is so pretty, still has it's traditional Greek charm. Great restaurants and lovely beach for snorkelling on the way to Paradise Restaurant. Sea crystal clear and warm. We visited here 34 years ago and yes it has changed but not too much and did not disappoint. Could have stayed for months! The locals were very welcoming. Can't wait to return.Guest review bySusanUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Assos is a very beautiful village .. fabulous views of the dramatically situated harbour and castle across the isthmus .... gorgeous flowering shrubs everywhere... lovely architecture ... a delicious bakery ... two mini markets ... several good restaurants especially Nefali- Anait . We also enjoyed using the sunbeds on the beach and swimming in the sea .. May or September are the best times to go ... far too crowded in August !Guest review byMichaelUnited Kingdom - 10.0

beautiful, if you're looking for peace and quiet and just to chill away from crowds and mass tourism you have come to the right place. A few hotels, taverns and one shop we love it. La Travena Opposite Astra Village is a beautiful restaurant run by the most amazing women and the food is excellent, lovely people. Wouldn't go by the bus time table displayed on the bus stop they are out of date. ask around and see if a local can give you an up-to-date one. But would recommend the round trip to see the island and the turtles in Agostini. We did the island tour with Kefalonia tours and that was good as well.Guest review byJanetUnited Kingdom - 10.0
