This place was above and beyond my expectations. Everything was perfect, even the smallest details, and you can feel the personal touch and excellent taste of the owners in every corner and in each item. Breakfast was amazing - tasty, fresh, and rich. And above all, the owners - Dafni and Thanasis - that showed us what a Greek hospitability really looks like.

A Four Season Paradise

Green mountains, long sandy beaches, traditional villages and snowy slopes characterise the beautiful region of Pelion. The mythological land of the Centaur, Mount Pelion is full of hiking trails, springs, gorges and streams.

During winter you can visit the ski resort of Agriolefkes, which has 4 slopes and ski lifts in constant operation. Situated to the northern side of Pelion, Pelion Ski Resort offers stunning views of the Aegean Sea.

Amazing city, by the sea, lots of activities to do!

Amazing city, by the sea, lots of activities to do! Mountain Pelion is near-by. Lots of gastronomic options, nice walk at the waterfront, small in size but nice museums to visit. Best months to visit would be Oct-Nov, and Mar/Apr. It turns out to be a very touristic place during summer time.

Very beautiful traditional Greek mountain village with small shops (local products) and few restaurants. Difficult to find parking in the center of the village, one public parking but it's very small. Easy to make road trips around Pelion area - go around if you have a car, this is one of the most beautiful regions in Greece (also in summer, not only winter). Some part of the roads (in Pelion area, not in Portaria) were destroyed in winter 2024 during storms. Unfortunately, they were still destroyed in July 2024. You can go around by car, roads are not closed, but needs a bit attention in many places and wouldn't recommend to drive at night (dark). Time from Portaria to beach (Agios Ioannis, Papa Nero) took from us abt 40 min so take your time. To Village "Kala Nera" (nice beach, long with plenty of place in July) a bit less.

Tsagarada is a charming village, renowned for its extraordinary natural beauty and unique setting. Settled in the heart of a chestnut forest, it attracts many visitors during the summertime who come to enjoy its peaceful atmosphere, breathtaking views and offering of an excellent traditional cuisine deeply rooted in the Pelion region’s rich culinary heritage. Founded in 1500, Tsagarada is composed of four picturesque settlements, each centered around beautifully restored old churches: Taxiarches, Agia Paraskevi, Agia Kyriaki, and Agios Stephanos. These churches are notable for their exquisite wooden carved iconostases. Tsagarada offers a perfect blend of nature, history, and tradition, making it a truly unforgettable destination.

The village may look small, but it has everything you need – supermarkets, souvenir shops, cozy restaurants and cafés, a bakery, a children’s playground, and a newly renovated church. From here, you can enjoy a walk along the promenade to Kato Gatzea or Koropi. A short 10-minute drive takes you up into the mountains to the beautiful villages of Vizitsa and Milies. In the other direction, you can visit the Voliotis family olive mill or head to Ano Lechonia to catch the little train for a picturesque ride through the mountains.

Zagora is famous for its apples, and agriculture is the main occupation for the majority of inhabitants; anyway, it is rich in historic churches too. There are some very good restaurants and Chorefto is a long beach at the crystal waters of the Aegean sea (though we must admit that the sea is frequently too rough).

We visited Mouresi in April when it was in full spring bloom and was low season as the high season is summer when people come to enjoy the beach. We were there to walk the ancient paths that criss-cross the peninsula between villages that date from centuries of use by the people that have lived there. It is a quaint rural area of Greece! There is not a lot of cultural sightseeing...just quaint villages and windy hairpin turn roads with the ocean and beaches, making for a laid-back vacation. We were there to hike but it would be too hot in the summer.

It is a nice place.

It is a nice place. A bit far and not so easy to reach, but definitely worth of visiting. There is a long public beach of about 2 km of length and a nudist beach (Parisena's) of about 400 meters, so there is a place for everyone. The restaurants are good, but tricky: the waiters are bringing you unwanted stuff like bottled water, bread, which aren't included into the price of the meal you order and the bills are not detailed, so you have the feeling of being cheated. Chorefto is nice for long evening walks, and you also have hiking trails alongside the sea. There's a lot of stray dogs, cats and mosquitoes (so take a repellent with you!).
