Loved being taken care of fantastic team, Eleni aranged all the requests I had on arrival, I needed to rent a car and she just made a call and car rental team brought it to the hotel in 10 min! I didn’t even need to search for it. Breakfast team remembered my preferences and were very welcoming every morning. The room was fantastic, spacious, great ambiance, quiet, clean with enourmous bed and perfect lighting in the room. Truly a luxurois experience and best time spent on a trip. Will be back for sure!

We picked the hotel at random, but was it a lucky choice! The staff, from reception to waiters, to maintenance, were brilliant! Devoted, helpful, smiling and friendly. Location was just perfect! Only 10 minutes away from all the buzz and fun, yet quite and relaxing from it all. Always a parking space available. Last but not least, their kitchen is better than most of the tavernas downtown! And there are dozens and dozens of great options all over the island! Thank you!!

We loved our stay at Hotel Mato, our host Fofi was exceptionally kind, between her lovingly prepared breakfasts, housekeeping, and occasional greek lesson. The views from our room were something out of a movie and the hotel itself is in a prime location to explore and enjoy Skiathos town. Perfect place for one to have a wonderful stay coupled with an authentic Greek experience!

We loved our stay at this beautiful, new apartment. The terrace has a view to die for and everything inside is of high quality. Bathroom and kitchen new, nice decor and wonderful bed and linens. Shower pressure perfect. The neighborhood is what you would expect in an island in Greece. Just magical!

    Excellent hotel. As a returning customer, i was surprised with what i saw. A totally "new" hotel, with clean rooms and halls (all the shared spaces were sparkling clean, the stuff was very friendly and helpful in each and any request i did, the breakfast was (finally) very rich and tasteful. I suppose there was a change in management witch transformed this hotel to a true 4+star hotel! Awesome job. Ill definitely suggest this hotel and return for some summer vacation days there, next year.

    Lovely hotel with great staff and facilities. Easy walk to a fantastic beach. Travelling with teenagers so it was great for them to be able to come and go as they pleased. We ate really well at the local restaurants but it's also super easy to jump on the bus into Skiathos Town. You don't really need to hire a car if you are happy to stick to the south of the island. We were leaving on a late ferry so stayed by the pool for the last day and used the shower/changing facilities available.

    So much to see and do.

    So much to see and do. Boat trips , bars, restaurants, shops, ferries etc. One bus stop from airport at 3 euros cost! Maybe not for you if you want to be on the beach every day though we did the water taxi to Tsougrias beach one day and the bus to vrommonilos beach another day.

    This is a spacious and well thought out property . Gorgeous interior and everything thought about from the use of space , seating area/breakfast bar and kitchen with a really large balcony. The bed is very big and extremely comfortable, if I had one criticism it would be that I could hear our neighbours shower or use of their hairdryer but this was only something minor. Excellent property and value for money in a beautiful location , 10 min walk into Skiathos town but if you don’t fancy the walk some beautiful tavernas on your doorstop , would 100% stay again and recommend.

    This is a lovely, fairly quiet area which is exactly what we wanted. There are plenty of bars if you need them and very good bus services if you want to go further afield. The beaches are wonderful and everyone was super helpful and friendly.

    Very relaxed.

    Very relaxed. Good selection of restaurants and pool bars for such a small place (largely one road with a mini market, restaurants and accommodation along it). 2 well known restaurants; Infinity Blue and Crazy Rooster. Lesser known is Argento which is a fantastic pool bar and restaurant. Xanthi pool bar is also great, with super friendly owners. Lovely beach with warm, shallow and clear waters (visited in August). Boat hire, pedalo, SUP and kayak hire available from the beach.     Koukounaries is really just a single (quite busy) road that runs behind a lake from one end of the Koukounaries beach to the other. The beach itself is fine golden sand with lots of facilities (loungers, boat and pedallo hire, bars and cafes), there is also public toilets in the centre of the beach ( a rarity in Greece) and is about 1km long. It gets very busy during the day. Access is easy as there is a regular bus from Skiathos town that stops along the road. There is also a Water Bus boat service from Skiathos town harbour ( cost E7 each way PO). There is also a car park at the Western end of the road but it does get filled up early. The main road is home to numerous bars, restaurants, hotels and apartment blocks and two small supermarkets. There is a small scruffy section in the centre of the road where there is a derelict hotel and apartment block that needs tidying up. For those who like there beaches more stripped back there is also 4 or 5 beaches on the northern section of the peninsula within a 20 or 30 minute walk from the road. You can walk along the shore of the lake but you cannot easily walk all around because of thick vegetation at the eastern end.

    Loved Troulos, quiet but plenty of taverns within walking distance, nearby supermarkets, lovely beach within walking distance. Close to bus- stops at all the beaches along coast, nothing not to love!! Can’t wait to return!!

    Achladies beach is lovely sandy beach with a couple of bars and eateries, the octopus which has fav food and Mojo which is a local bar with food. There are sunbeds and you can get a water taxi to skiathos town and back every half hour. There is also a supermarket nearby and a bakery. The supermarket will deliver your goods of over 25 euros which is a great service. It also has water sports and is lovely for a swim

    First of all this accommodation is far from being 5 stars. Rooms have not been renovated for years, the bathroom is so old and full of mold, needs an urgent upgrade. The hotel does not have a fitness, you have to go to another hotel if you want to use it. We booked a Suite with Sea View but upon arrival they told us it is no longer available and they give us another room for the first 3 days then we can move to the one we booked. Staff was very nice at first, but then they ignore us and not answering the phone or messages. Unfortunately, we had to leave 2 days earlier because of terrible news, my husband’s dad passed away. They didn't do anything to partially refund us. Do yourself a favour and avoid this place at all costs.

    This is an excellent hotel, where we have stayed overnight on a number of occasions. It gives terrific value: superb location, great food, comfortable rooms at a very good price. But what makes it truly outstanding is the friendliness and helpfulness of the people who run it. They always make us feel very welcome.

    One of the Perfect Greek Island Getaways Skiathos is an island that combines beautiful beaches, vibrant nightlife, and authentic Greek charm. The town center is lively, with narrow streets full of tavernas, cafés, and small shops, while the port area offers stunning views, especially at sunset. The island is very easy to explore by car or scooter, and parking is generally convenient. Beaches like Koukounaries and Banana Beach are quite busy, although the water is crystal clear and the sand golden. For those who prefer peace and quiet, there are also hidden gems such as Mandraki and Elias Beach, which I highly recommend for a more relaxing experience away from the crowds. Hospitality is warm and welcoming everywhere, and the food is excellent—fresh seafood, traditional Greek dishes, and plenty of options for all tastes.
