Limenas is the best location to stay in Thassos especially if you have kids. Everything is near walking distance restaurants and supermarkets. Beautiful beaches. Amazing fresh fish. A place to be avoided, small and very crowded. You have everything in one small place, some people may like this, I don't. This location is a gem.
This location is a gem. Beach is awesome, you can travel to other locations, food is out of this world. Value for dollar is magic. The best food for the least cost. How this can be? The souvlaki at ZIAFET GYROS, GRILL, ruined all souvlaki for me. Their staff is out of this world. Unfair. They made us go back night after night, even when we wanted to try other places. Potos is a lively town with lots of bars, cafes and restaurants. The beach is large and had sun beds that are usually free with a purchase, and the hospitality staff were friendly and helpful. Potos is a great location and is in near reach to other places, usually around a 10/20 minute drive. It is close to Theologos, Giola and other nice beaches including Notos and Rosogremos (both beautiful beaches). Easy access to this location. You can take the ferry to Tasos for 30-40 minutes and 5 euro for a person ticket. The schedule is every 30 minutes and you can make a day trip to the island. There are very nice places to eat in Keramoti - restaurants offer fresh sea food, traditional Greek dishes and drinks. Nea Iraklitsa is a nice place, surounded by another great small cities (Nea Peramos and Paliyo) and and amazing beaches. Each day you can visit a new beach.
