- From $144.41 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 733 reviewsI recently had the pleasure of staying at Vuglec Breg, a charming retreat nestled in the heart of Zagorje, just 40 km from Zagreb. The experience was nothing short of exceptional. The property offers a variety of traditional cottages, each exuding rustic charm while providing modern comforts. My room was impeccably clean, cozy, and provided stunning views of the surrounding vineyards and rolling hills. The staff at Vuglec Breg are truly outstanding. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive service throughout my stay, every interaction was marked by genuine hospitality and professionalism. The on-site restaurant is a culinary gem. Serving traditional Zagorje cuisine made from fresh, local ingredients, each meal was a delightful journey into regional flavors. The ambiance, with its traditional decor and cozy fireplace, added to the overall dining experience. Beyond the comfortable accommodations and excellent dining, Vuglec Breg offers a range of amenities, including a spa and wellness area, private sauna, and an outdoor hot tub, all designed to enhance relaxation and enjoyment.Guest review byDavidCroatia
- From $128.04 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 43 reviewsThis place is simply amazing. The views of the countryside and vineyards are breathtaking. Breakfast was very good with gluten free options. We also had lunch there which was also very good. We enjoyed a good bottle of their wine accompanied by a nice cheese and cold cut platter. The room was clean and comfortable with an enormous en-suite bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful.Guest review byXuerebMalta

- From $135.22 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 3,091 reviewsVery affordable, nice and tidy, incredibly nice and friendly staff. We rented a couple of e-bikes and their whole bike-for-rent lineup is over the top. Our models were Specialized Levo, and they had a couple of regular MTBs with top of the line components.Guest review byMarkoCroatia

A nice looking town, located on the hills.
A nice looking town, located on the hills. Traditional format Lidl store is 3-5 minutes walk from train station. Also there is a Konzum store. The town is not crowdy, therefore, no problems with comfortable driving and parking. Very nice views, pleasant people. Kids were happy to play with cats and dogs. We stayed there for an overnight on our way to the seaside.Guest review bySamUkraine - 10.0

hotel may be a bit older, but the standard it offers is still very good. The surroundings are beautiful and the views are truly stunning. Breakfast was tasty, though it could have been a little more varied. Overall, we were very satisfied – excellent value for money.Guest review byMichalPoland - 2.0

Those people are selling the rooms when they are fully booked because they have no idea how to work with booking.com when the property is full! Customer service 0 . Respect for a family with little kids 0 . No interest to contact booking.com to cancel the non refundable reservation when it was not even our fault . I had to manage by myself everything! If you want your business to work my darling learn some customer service because sadly you are incapable to do it! I cannot call you receptionist/ oh maybe I spoke with the cleaner? Even the cleaner it’s more polite than you! Shame !!! You cannot allow people to book room and at 11PM call them to tell them there is not room. And even with little baby!Guest review bySaimirUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Pools and welness are very nice, but should be avoided on weekends, too much people. Friendly staff, but they sometimes seem overwhelmed with a sheer volume of people, looks like they downsized during covid, and struggling to recover.Guest review byDraganCroatia - 8.0

Very nice place, mountains and forest around, which I would to travel in and see! It is a little town (or village?) near highway but you don't hear any sounds from the highway, there is nice and quiet.Guest review byDamianPoland - 8.0
Cozy town the highlight of which is the Neanderthal Museum.
Cozy town the highlight of which is the Neanderthal Museum. Walk-able center and provides everything you should need for your stay. Numerous and varied entertainment spots dotted around town - from Bars/Cafes/Restaurants/Bakery/dessert house/ a few museums/ Close to walking trails/ nearby winery, to list a few. Also a central location to other various day trip little towns.Guest review byRobertCanada - 10.0

Hotel Trakoscan is located in perfect spot just next to beautiful medieval castell Trakoscan and lake, surrounded by nature. If you enjoy walking in any time of the year in the forest or lake shore, then this is perfect spot for your stay. Hotel has everything that one need, including spa and small swimming pool. But actual treat is nature and being part of it the moment you walk out of the hotel. Castell Taskoscan is open for visitors and it is really nice to visit. Nearby city Krapina is also worthwhile visiting.Guest review byZlataGermany - 10.0

We only stayed in Krapina for one night, twice, on our way South. This town is a little gem hidden in the mountains, rather quiet and slow, no traffic, etc. Neanderthal museum is fun. The views are awesome, mountains look amazing. Next time we'll be staying longer!!Guest review byTomasz KulbowskiPoland - 10.0

Trakošćan castle is situated in a beautiful scenery, surrounded by forest and meadows. The lake beneath the castle is at the moment drained due to some maintenance. The castle itself is a interesting place to visit, it has medieval weaponry on display as well as representative residential and auxiliary rooms form the period.Guest review byGordanaCroatia
