- From $238.06 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 2,949 reviewsThis was now the fourth or fifth time I have stayed at this hotel. I have travelled all over the place and, I have to say, I think this is my favorite hotel ever. Easy to get to by car. No-fuss check-in. Hotel and rooms in great condition. Great views. The thermal water pools are excellent (didn't get to the saunas this time!), some of the best I've ever been in (I live in Romania, on the border with Hungary, so thermal water is omnipresent). The included dinner and breakfast are served as a big buffet with all kinds of Hungarian staples. I've never been disappointed with the food. Tons of places nearby to visit (although you probably won't leave the hotel!)..and, to top it all off...a huge salt mound where the thermal waters come out of the hillside. It's more of a splurge destination for relaxation but considering all you get, it's well worth the money. Will definitely come again.Guest review byCoreyRomania
- From $85.34 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very Good - What previous guests thought, 1,896 reviewsConveniently located and the staff were top notch. Extremely helpful and accommodating. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. The view of the castle from the room was a big pleasant bonus. The chef in particular accommodated our 3 vegan guests with options at dinner and breakfast on no notice from us, and with a professional and extremely pleasant attitude. I will definitely return to this hotel in the future.Guest review byLorraineUnited States
- From $213.43 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 1,320 reviewsWe are returning visitors, love the place, the facilities, location, food, everything is amazing. One can go for a hike easily, a beautiful trail leads through the hotel's lot. However if you'd rather stay in, there are also in-house lunch/snack options, and well, the spa is my all-time favourite. They are also well equipped for families travelling with little babies.Guest review byOlgaHungary

We travel to Eger for thermal spas.
We travel to Eger for thermal spas. There are 5 within 15 minutes from Eger: 1 in Eger, 3 in Demjen, 1 in Egerszalok. Instead of staying in resorts we choose stay in Eger, not far from historic center with unique atmosfere and lots of reastaurants. Eger is not crowded. There was always place in every restaurant we were eating in for us.Guest review byPeterUnited States - 4.0
We went to Miskolc to see the thermal caves and the castle.
We went to Miskolc to see the thermal caves and the castle. The castle and the caves was closed. Lillafured was nice though. Had a bad experience on the V1 train/tram though. We travelled as a family of 4 from South Africa. We purchased Hungary Travel Passes upfront to make it easy to travel. It is also affordable for a 30 day pass. We were under the impression that we could use the Hungary Pass on all urban transport within Hungary. It certainly worked well in Budapest. We arrived at about 12h30 in Miskolc and immediately boarded the V1 train/tram to Lillafured. We only spent 2 nights in Miskolc. At about 13h20 an inspector came around on the V1 tram/train and asked for our tickets. We showed him our Hungary Passes. He was very agro and intimidating and treated us like criminals. He could only say fine and police in English. We immediately had to pay 24000 ft as a fine. We would gladly have paid the correct ticket had we known. A young man stepped closed who assited as an interpreter. The inspector did not want to listen to any reason. We did not know that we had to buy another ticket and besides all notices concerning public transport in Miskolc is in Hungarian. My kids were quite traumatised by the event since they never received a fine in their life. We just feel that the situation could have been handled diferently and a bit more civilised. There should be more assistance for tourists in this regard. I will not go to Miskolc again. Bad experienceGuest review byLeonSouth Africa - 6.0

We loved Tokaj! It is a charming little town.
We loved Tokaj! It is a charming little town. We were grateful to find the information centre as we didn't know the area. We thoroughly enjoyed tasting the delightful wines. The whole region is very picturesque, with rolling hills and vineyards. We went for a short drive to Tarsal to see the statue of he Blessing of Christ. A little further on we saw the quaint St Therese on top of another hill. We had dinner both nights at our hotel where the food was fabulous! I particularly loved the famous local wine Tokaj Aszu! It was great to get out into the countryside away from the big city and taste the local wines and local produce. A highlight of our trip.Guest review byJenniAustralia - 4.0
Very expensive village compared to what's actually available...
Very expensive village compared to what's actually available. Only a few restaurants which cost the same as higher-quality restaurants in the capital, and only a few things for sightseeers. Not much to do for days in case of rain. I'd recommend against going to the cave, because people have been doing their business inside. Szilvásvárad is good for like a 3-4 days trip, but nothing more.Guest review byDavidHungary - 10.0

It was a bit drizzly during our stay which didn’t bother me at all but I overheard some guests mentioning that there’s no cover/roof over the outside thermal baths so they were getting wet. Please replace the bulbs on the path which leads back to the hotel from the outside baths. These are open til 2am, and as I am short sighted, my glasses were steaming up and in general, it’d be safer. Overall I’ve had a very relaxing experience.Guest review byGG - 10.0

There was a holiday going while I visited Miskolc sothe shops etc were mostly closed. A nice enough toinen to voisit though it seemed a bit quiet one. It was a bit difficult to find the center of the tien when I started from the train station In bus station the system was confusibg. There were Electronic displays for departing busses but they were apparently not updated. The staff there sermed not to be too service orientedGuest review byJussiFinland - 8.0

Miskolctapolca is a small town, which has a lot to offer in every weather. There is an extraordinary Cave Bath and the Ellipsum Spa and Fitness. Once you have enough of bathing, you can try bobsled, rowing a boat or just taking a ride on a bike. Definitely recommend a visit to Lillafured by the forest train and a Miskolc Zoo. Every day in a week you can do a completely different activity here!Guest review byPetraSlovakia
