Wow! Where do I begin?! Just honestly such a wonderful stay and I had the most pleasant experience at Amandaya. I came here twice in my two month trip! I was so happy with my stay at first time that I came back before my trip ended! I was that happy and comfortable with my stay. They take care of you as you are part of the family. The room was so clean and comfortable. I just love the location because it’s more quiet than other areas in Canggu. The room was sooooo nice as well, perfect size of it! You really do feel like at second home. Thank you Amandaya, I can’t wait to come back in the future.

Everything was perfect, the staff always welcomes you when you arrive and make sure you’re taken care of anytime, the breakfast options are really good (my favorite was Uncle Benny), the chauffeur service was available every time I need it (it depends on how many people are staying but my experience was great). Even though the beach isn’t walking distance it is very centric, almost all beaches are within 5km. Will definitely stay here again, speacial thanks to Debby and Agung for their attention <3

Great place, overall. We had a room with a small private pool, which we really enjoyed. The facilities, location, and staff are amazing. The infinity pool is large enough, with a view over the valley forest. Safina made us the best crepe, and FDM Armoni lives up to her name. Live music during dinner was enjoyable, as well as Balinese dance. The surrounding Campuhan/village area is excellent. You will find many warungs, cafés, and some rice fields.

FAQs about hotels in Bali

An Island Dream

The dream destination of Bali is where volcanic landscape meets lush rice terraces and pristine beaches. Not to mention the fantastic surfing, cheap shopping and pervading spirituality that have made this Indonesian island a long-time favourite for backpackers.

The island’s capital is Denpasar in the south, but its surf and party capital is nearby Kuta. Swaying palm trees line the beach here and many more cover the grounds of the Bali hotels on the beach in more exclusive Seminyak to the north.

On the island’s north coast, Pemuteran beach offers lovely views of the sloping mountains heading towards the Bali Sea. Many beaches on this coast are black sand, including sweeping Lovina beach from where dolphins can often be seen. Tulamben in the east is one of the better diving resorts in Bali, while Sanur is a popular option for families.

Ubud is the island’s cultural capital and houses a monkey sanctuary in its jungle-like landscape. An ancient Hindu temple is found here, but the best-known temple is Tanah Lot, surrounded by water. There are also hundreds of fantastic spas in Bali, as well as meditation and yoga classes that you can join.

Whether you choose to stay inland or by the beautiful coastline, Booking.com has a great range of villas, guest houses and hotels in Bali.

A Perfect Retreat in the Heart of Nature I loved every part of my stay at Padma Resort Ubud. The rooms are spacious, impeccably clean, and offer breathtaking views of the surrounding greenery. Housekeeping services were provided twice a day, which kept everything spotless and comfortable. The staff are incredibly warm, helpful, and truly go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. The level of hospitality is exceptional from check-in to departure, everything felt seamless and personalized. What makes this place truly special is the lush greenery that surrounds the entire resort. It has such a positive effect on your mood and makes the whole experience incredibly peaceful. The infinity pool is stunning and always calm, perfect for relaxing or enjoying the view. The spa was a highlight of my stay beautifully designed, serene, and run by professional massage therapists who really know what they’re doing. It’s a perfect place for detox and unwinding. Lastly, it’s an ideal spot for families with children—quiet, safe, and filled with nature. I highly recommend Padma Ubud for anyone looking to recharge and reconnect with peace and beauty. Staff were very thoughtful they brought a small cake for my daughter first birthday, thank you so much 🙏

In total, we stayed here for one month and we were very happy. We will come back to stay here again after visiting other places in Bali. It's beautiful to have a pool surrounded by a green garden. There are many good restaurants along the street and it's a 7-10 min walk to the beach. We didn't need a scooter as everything was within walking distance. The room was spacious, that's why we picked it and we were happy with the size and air-conditioning. Good that we had a mini-fridge. It's quiet at night and an oasis from the busy traffic on the streets. Nice, firm mattress. The pillow was a bit too hard for my taste. The staff cleaned our room every day and gave us water bottles every day. We felt well taken care off!

Ubud has serious traffic congestion and crossing the road becomes a practiced art. Pavements are a real problem as they are narrow and badly broken up, tripping hazards are commonplace. The roadside kerbing is much higher than normal so for anyone struggling with any type of walking disability, beware. Basically there are just too many tourists and day trippers which makes for even more traffic and crowding. Feels like I should have come here 25 years ago and would have found a completely different vibe. Taxi journey to and from the airport took two and a half hours through stop-start heavy traffic and a million scooters.

Canggu is a party place more than sightseeing. The beach close is quite nice (also for surfing) and in the night you can go close to the beach to visit some bars and clubs. The vibe is constantly there. You can also join some local hostel events and meet people there which is nice. More of a young people place, but always worth a visit.

Always somewhere to eat in Seminyak.

Always somewhere to eat in Seminyak. From bustling Eat Street to the quieter back streets. Ginger Moon is one of my go to places for food and Sea Circus for a great breakfast. Ku De Ta has been upgraded to a beach club atmosphere. I think I’d give it a miss next time as it has lost its ambience of a relaxed place to watch the sun go down now that they have a pool which was full of families. Easy to navigate by foot, plenty of relaxation or activity. Local convenience stores and money changer are easily accessible.

Uluwatu is much more expensive and luxury compared to the rest of Bali. The place is under a massive construction renovation, there are construction site everywhere so it will be very different in a couple of years. I loved everything I saw here, just wish I could have stayed longer. I stayed at Prapat Beach, which was close enough to Penida Ferry Port and stunning, with an amazing view of Agung on a clear day. My accomodation was in a great spot and is as advertised. Sari Nadi Beach Stay is only a few k's from the harbour but with traffic, it took around 30mins. I did a tour of West island beaches, which I found disappointing because it was so busy, shoulder-to-shoulder busy! It felt it was impossible to really enjoy it with so many people. The walk down to Kelingking Beach might have been worth it if you didn't have to keep stopping for someone to get their perfect shot! The drive through the countryside was worth it alone though, and if your new to the island, it's a great way to get your bearings for a return visit. Crystal Beach was my pick of the beaches, just don't forget to bring a towel or change to hire one and a bed. Otherwise, you can sit at a table. Overall, I can't wait to go back! One tip, check if there are any days of (religious) observance when you stay. My stay coincided with Nyepi Laut, 'Silence of the Ocean' which means no water activity, great for me because it meant peace and quiet but not if you needed to travel that day.

    Legian is the perfect location.

Legian is the perfect location. There are many hotels along the beach side which makes it extremely easy to access. Legian is an easy stroll to many desirable restaurants and the shopping is amazing.

Nusa Lembongan is much more relaxed than Bali.

Nusa Lembongan is much more relaxed than Bali. You can also get accommodation with fantastic views and beach access for a reasonable price. So many activities to do such as surfing, snorkelling, diving, fishing, etc. Once you've been to Nusa Lembongan, you will definitely come back again.

Great hotel in the middle of some lovely restaurants.

Great hotel in the middle of some lovely restaurants. Rooms are tired in need of upgrades and painting , but were clean and a very powerful shower. Staff were amazing and a good buffet breakfast with fresh omelette/pancakes. Pool area was relaxing and could do with a few more sunbeds. Didn’t get to the beach but a good shuttle service available. Supermarket and ATM just across the road.
