People did not really know about Sanur, when talking about Bali. This resorts and it's location really were ideal if you are not looking for an over busy and commercialized stay. If Kuta, Legian, Seminyak or Dusa Nua are for you, this resort is not. The location was very central to access to Ubud and also to Kuta and surrounding areas. If you want a beautiful resort away from alot of a busy city, this is it. It is super relaxing and walking distance to many shops and restaurants, while not being overly commercial. Shops and many services are close by. Lots of choices for massages and getting your nails done. I would suggest checking out the nail polish selection and services closely in the area. Sanur like other places in Bali is busy, but the new Icon shopping centre has everything one needs, of course there is still Arte Sedana the traditional balinese shop, with the Peri Plus Bookstore. Great city to explore... wish we would have had more time to look around. Everyone we met or talked to were very friendly and kind. Highly recommend. The new Icon Bali Shopping Mall is wonderful and opens out at one end onto the Beach. Lovely restaurants and Cafes and also Some High End shops for the Rich Tourists!! However, the road and pedestrian Footpaths out front on the main road ( Jalan Danau Tamblingan) are appalling. Denpasar is often overlooked and yet has so much to offer. There is history, culture, good food and places with open space, great views and room to walk if you know where to look. It's also a great base from which you can visit other areas and enjoy unique experiences with little travel time. It was easy to get around but little to do nearby. A great turtle conservation centre that will keep most people occupied for up to an hour. I love Sanur this is my 3rd time staying in Sanur its quieter than Kuta & Seminyak however there is still plenty to do.
