We stayed in room 709 which was a little secluded from the pool's noise and the Mosque. The room is very spacious. The bathroom is really big, it looks like a living room. The pool area is nice and relaxing. Very well maintained. The upstairs pool is very good!

ColombiaAfter a very long research on properties in the island, I found this recently opened hotel which didn't have many reviews, but look new and attractive for us. Once we got there, we fell in love with it. The pool was great and the room we stayed in looked very new. The staff was the nicest and the breakfast was delicious. You can also rent a bike in the reception so you can get around the island. It is also very central and very near to the port. 100% recommended.

Indonesia's Laid-back Lombok
A great alternative to busy Bali is lazy Lombok, a more authentic representation for tourists who wish to explore one of Indonesia’s more than 17,000 islands. It is separated from its naughty neighbor by the Lombok Strait to the east and from Sumbawa by the Alas Strait to the west.
Lombok is a typical island paradise of paddy fields, pristine beaches, jungle escapes and mountain retreats. It is largely inhabited by the local Sasak people with a small percentage of Balinese settlers.
Many hotels on Booking.com are centred around the capital of Mataram and the beaches stretching along the north-eastern coastline, including the sweeping bays of Senggigi. Medana Bay is another great northern location for people wanting to visit the nearby Gili Islands, a wonderful snorkeling location and nightlife choice.
Escape the tropical heat in the mountains surrounding Gunung Rinjani, an active volcano where tourists can break in their newly acquired trekking shoes. Other adventures abound on the southern surf beaches of Lombok.
Lombok International Airport is located 33 km south-west from Mataram and services daily flights mainly from Jakarta and Bali. This round-shaped island is approximately 80 km in both directions and offers plenty of variety for a great holiday.

Excellent villa with amazing views across Teluk Aan - amazing sea colours. 10 mins walk to Gerupuk village (or 5 mins scooter) for surfing trips which were excellent to a variety of locations in the bay and suitable for range of skills. Short drive to Kuta Lombok (15 mins) for dinner / more tourist activities - roads are empty and good due to the Moto GP circuit being built nearby - big contrast to Bali! Only about 30 mins from the airport. Villa has 4 double bedrooms, beautiful pool and terrace and open plan living area. We ate in the villa 2 nights - staff cook a great barbecue - the local lobster was outstanding definitely request this! Breakfast also very good - cooked whatever requested. Staff super friendly arranged car, boat trips etc and always on hand to help out.

The views of the surrounding landscapes are absolutely breathtaking, including mount Rinjani, rice fields, big green jungle with different monkey species & the ocean all in one view.
Great pool & restaurant with good variety of options, really good mie goreng.
Just 2 minutes from the property is a lovely short hiking trail to 2 amazing waterfalls (Tiu Kelep waterfall & I can't remember the name of the other one)
This place was perfect for us to rest & relax before the taxing Mount Rinjani trek. We only wished we also booked a few nights after the trek.

As a 61 year woman travelling alone for the first time and never visited Lombok before, I felt very safe at Qunci Villas. The staff were very attentive and caring. The facilities were kept immaculate and the restaurants were amazing, catering for all food preferences. I booked a day tour via Qunci Villas. My driver/guide Opan was amazing. He was kind and patient and explained many points of interest along the way. I never felt rushed or anxious and completely safe with Opan and enjoyed the most memorable day.

The hotel pool and room pool were both amazing. Breakfast was great and the location is perfect. It's in a quiet place but really close to the most lively part of the island, only a few minutes walk from the island's harbor. The staff is super nice and you can go deep in the hotel with your electric scooter to park it at your apartment, since the hotel is kinda big.

I love the pool, friendly staff, nice and quiet, but not too far away from the beach and all you need. I loved that they do not have plastic water bottles at all. Fresh refills in glass bottles when you need water. I recommend hiring a bicycle they supply for IDR 50,000 a day.

I like to spend time there!
I like to spend time there! A lot of good restaurants, nice café coffee shops. There is a local market to buy fruits. The main beach in Kuta is awful, but the beaches around are stunning, such as Tanjung Ann (also for surfing), Tampah Beach, and Mawun! Paradise!
Restaurants: La Cuna (Mexican), Elamu (great for a romantic dinner), Jiang Nan.
If local – highly recommend Lalapan Amanda.

Gili Air is a cat lovers paradise.
Gili Air is a cat lovers paradise. There are cats in the hotels, bars and on the beach. Gili Air was very relaxing and quiet due to it being November and the start of the rainy season. The beach area on the western side is lovely to swim at with a small lagoon. There are a number of bars and restaurants on the beach. More restaurants and bars in the 'town' area. The food, drinks and accommodation are much cheaper than tourist Bali areas. The ferry from Bali takes around 4 hours from Sanur Harbour and stops at Nusa Peninda, Gili T, Gili Meno, Gili Air and Lombok.
I highly recommend staying at Elephant House and Bungalows. The restaurants along the beach have good food, happy hour cocktails and cats.
Getting around Gili Air can be difficult with luggage as there is no motorised transport and only one paved road, the rest of the roads/laneways are sand. There are bicycles and electric scooters available for hire. There are many water based activities on offer and tours to the other islands.

Alu at tne senggigi ferry port organised an amazing day snorkelling at three of the Gili islands. Paradise!

For non divers can also be perfect, easy snorkeling, no cars or motorbikes, only walk (2 hours around the island) or push bikes.
No big shops, very quite, but it's great to stay on the island, enjoy the water and the quite, for shopping Gili T is only 15 mins boat ride, but without the noise.

The local family who manage Green Haven Homestay are so...
The local family who manage Green Haven Homestay are so welcoming and friendly. They will do almost anything to cater for travellers, for example I am 68 and wouldn’t have been able to do the 6 km walking tour up and down hills and uneven surfaces so they organised a motorbike tour which was great. The tour of the villages was also good and very interesting and informative to see the local market, pottery being made, textile weaving and bamboo weaving.
There was a good variety of food and the family dinner was wonderful, so much delicious local food.
The accommodation was suitable in a peaceful environment.
I really enjoyed my stay.

Selong belanak is a charming location with friendly locals and great food!
Main beach Munah is buzzing with people holidaying and learning to surf
With Warungs along the beach you can grab a board or a cold Bintang and enjoy the water
Homestays are the way to go but there are also
Also beachfront restaurants and resort style places.
Beautiful surrounding areas and still quite enough to enjoy local farming
I hope it stays this way and foreign resorts do not take over.

Was exhausted after Mt.
Was exhausted after Mt. Rinjani climb and this impacted on my exploration of the wider area, which I would've liked to have done more of. Also despite being officially the 'dry season', the weather was often overcast and rainy.
I think had things been slightly different and I had had more time, the experience would have been better..
But still a lovely place that has less tourists than other parts of Indonesia.

Strawberry picked was fun.
Strawberry picked was fun. Look at google maps to find places with at least 5 good reviews to find somewhere to go. Hiking Pergasagan Hill and spending the night was amazing! Only thing to note though is that there are a lot of mosques here and they are VERY loud. We didn't get much sleep during our stay.

Small island but has everything, the local are very friendly, so many bar and nice restaurants, few places for party as well and of course crystal clear water and white sand beaches are perfect for relax but live music after sunset is my favorite in Gili Trawangan!
I just wished that the club would open later than 1am but i guess that’s the local regulations so i get that.
