Absolutely wonderful property, right on the beach with a beautiful set-up on the beach, including sun loungers, cabanas, and beach service (towels, meals, drinks). The property has two swimming pools, both clean and amazing, with a bar inside. The inside pool is in a beautiful area, with sand around and many sun loungers to lie down on. The room was very spacious, with a massive balcony, decorated very well. As this property is new, everything was very clean and sparkling. Their restaurant is really nice, the complimentary breakfast was delicious. Location is slightly away from the crowds, so you can enjoy peace and quiet. However, it's close enough that you can get to the busy city areas within a 10-minute walk. The staff are lovely, always helpful and with a smile. The value is great. I even recommended this hotel to a friend, who ended up staying here for his wedding honeymoon and he also loved it. Well done!

The most amazing hotel! The staff are so friendly and helpful and the facilities are out of this world. You basically get to stay in what feels like a luxury beach club (but with no cost!) the rooms are clean and large and there is plenty of space to relax and work around the hotel if you work remotely.

I was the second time at Lumi and I just love it! When you drive around anf look at the hotels, Lumi is outstanding! There are many nice hotels but the vibe at Lumi is just wow! Love the pool,the food, the free bicycle rent, the beach area .. the cleaning personal does also a great job! Everyone is friendly. I would stay there again!

Exceptionally great place. Hidden oasis within the centre of Gili Air. We stayed at the KOHO Air twice now for around 8 nights and it’s always been a wonderful stay. Beautiful hotel, very clean and great staff. We will definitely be back for a third time :-)

The hotel is nicely tucked away from the road and has a very welcoming entrance. The staff was always helpful, smiling, and polite, with funny jokes here and there. The food was plentiful and yummy. We almost never missed happy hour, sipping on fine cocktails. Our room was spacious, clean, smelled nice, and there was a dehumidifier as well. The bathroom was just gorgeous, it felt like a tropical rainforest. Both swimming pools were also nice, one was a bit bigger, with a deeper section. We also enjoyed the hotel spa a couple of times, massages were very relaxing and professional. We got so much more than what we paid for our stay. In fact, we ended spending more for food, drinks, and massages in the hotel than the stay itself (family of 6, all adults). All in all, we would definitely go back there. Thank you Rascals :)

Brand new property in the heart of Gili T, near almost everthing but yet so serene. the harbour, cafes & bars with just 5-10 minutes walk. Bedroom was super clean, comfortable, and smells really good even in the bathroom. Breakfast was good and they served it to my room every morning. The staff was super nice, always asked if I need anything and they always willing to help. Looking forward to stay here again next time I’ll visit Gili T.

Indonesia's Laid-back Lombok

A great alternative to busy Bali is lazy Lombok, a more authentic representation for tourists who wish to explore one of Indonesia’s more than 17,000 islands. It is separated from its naughty neighbor by the Lombok Strait to the east and from Sumbawa by the Alas Strait to the west.

Lombok is a typical island paradise of paddy fields, pristine beaches, jungle escapes and mountain retreats. It is largely inhabited by the local Sasak people with a small percentage of Balinese settlers.

Many hotels on Booking.com are centred around the capital of Mataram and the beaches stretching along the north-eastern coastline, including the sweeping bays of Senggigi. Medana Bay is another great northern location for people wanting to visit the nearby Gili Islands, a wonderful snorkeling location and nightlife choice.

Escape the tropical heat in the mountains surrounding Gunung Rinjani, an active volcano where tourists can break in their newly acquired trekking shoes. Other adventures abound on the southern surf beaches of Lombok.

Lombok International Airport is located 33 km south-west from Mataram and services daily flights mainly from Jakarta and Bali. This round-shaped island is approximately 80 km in both directions and offers plenty of variety for a great holiday.

Excellent villa with amazing views across Teluk Aan - amazing sea colours. 10 mins walk to Gerupuk village (or 5 mins scooter) for surfing trips which were excellent to a variety of locations in the bay and suitable for range of skills. Short drive to Kuta Lombok (15 mins) for dinner / more tourist activities - roads are empty and good due to the Moto GP circuit being built nearby - big contrast to Bali! Only about 30 mins from the airport. Villa has 4 double bedrooms, beautiful pool and terrace and open plan living area. We ate in the villa 2 nights - staff cook a great barbecue - the local lobster was outstanding definitely request this! Breakfast also very good - cooked whatever requested. Staff super friendly arranged car, boat trips etc and always on hand to help out.

Everything is perfect about this hotel it is a little piece of paradise I can’t even describe how peaceful and likeanle this hotel is. The architecture of the lobby and all of the 3 rooms I’ve stayed in was immaculate and perfect. I can say with no doubt after walking around the island that the Pearl is the best hotel of gili t. Also the staff is super super nice always smiling and really helpful.

I love the pool, friendly staff, nice and quiet, but not too far away from the beach and all you need. I loved that they do not have plastic water bottles at all. Fresh refills in glass bottles when you need water. I recommend hiring a bicycle they supply for IDR 50,000 a day.

A bustling town with much to explore and many bars and restaurants to choose from. When we come again (and we will) we would like to do more trips exploring the outlying areas. Our main purpose for travel was to attend a wedding at Selong Selo resort (also fabulous with spectacular views) so we didn't do much exploring this time. It was sad to see so much plastic rubbish on roadsides. The infrastructure, at the moment, does not deal with this but efforts are being made.

Gili Air is a cat lovers paradise.

Gili Air is a cat lovers paradise. There are cats in the hotels, bars and on the beach. Gili Air was very relaxing and quiet due to it being November and the start of the rainy season. The beach area on the western side is lovely to swim at with a small lagoon. There are a number of bars and restaurants on the beach. More restaurants and bars in the 'town' area. The food, drinks and accommodation are much cheaper than tourist Bali areas. The ferry from Bali takes around 4 hours from Sanur Harbour and stops at Nusa Peninda, Gili T, Gili Meno, Gili Air and Lombok. I highly recommend staying at Elephant House and Bungalows. The restaurants along the beach have good food, happy hour cocktails and cats. Getting around Gili Air can be difficult with luggage as there is no motorised transport and only one paved road, the rest of the roads/laneways are sand. Stayed at tne katamaran hotel, stunning hotel with great food and provided a restful quiet break in stunning surroundings. Both restaurants on site provided great food. The spa was also gorgeous. The entire stay was heavenly! Alu at tne senggigi ferry port organised an amazing day snorkelling at three of the Gili islands. Paradise!

A small island featuring numerous resorts with white sand beaches, making it a very relaxing destination. The best grilled fish we had was at Tika Warung during our 35-day trip across Indonesia, including Bali, Gili, and Lombok, prepared by a fisherman‘s wife. However, we were disappointed that we couldn't rent an electronic scooter; only bikes or horse-drawn carts were available. Additionally, the persistent salespeople around the restaurant and beach- selling shell jewellery and Medications were bothersome.

The local family who manage Green Haven Homestay are so...

The local family who manage Green Haven Homestay are so welcoming and friendly. They will do almost anything to cater for travellers, for example I am 68 and wouldn’t have been able to do the 6 km walking tour up and down hills and uneven surfaces so they organised a motorbike tour which was great. The tour of the villages was also good and very interesting and informative to see the local market, pottery being made, textile weaving and bamboo weaving. There was a good variety of food and the family dinner was wonderful, so much delicious local food. The accommodation was suitable in a peaceful environment. I really enjoyed my stay.

Selong belanak is a charming location with friendly locals...

Selong belanak is a charming location with friendly locals and great food! Main beach Munah is buzzing with people holidaying and learning to surf With Warungs along the beach you can grab a board or a cold Bintang and enjoy the water Homestays are the way to go but there are also Also beachfront restaurants and resort style places. Beautiful surrounding areas and still quite enough to enjoy local farming I hope it stays this way and foreign resorts do not take over.

Was exhausted after Mt.

Was exhausted after Mt. Rinjani climb and this impacted on my exploration of the wider area, which I would've liked to have done more of. Also despite being officially the 'dry season', the weather was often overcast and rainy. I think had things been slightly different and I had had more time, the experience would have been better.. But still a lovely place that has less tourists than other parts of Indonesia.

Strawberry picked was fun.

Strawberry picked was fun. Look at google maps to find places with at least 5 good reviews to find somewhere to go. Hiking Pergasagan Hill and spending the night was amazing! Only thing to note though is that there are a lot of mosques here and they are VERY loud. We didn't get much sleep during our stay.

Small island but has everything, the local are very friendly...

Small island but has everything, the local are very friendly, so many bar and nice restaurants, few places for party as well and of course crystal clear water and white sand beaches are perfect for relax but live music after sunset is my favorite in Gili Trawangan! I just wished that the club would open later than 1am but i guess that’s the local regulations so i get that.
