The Koho Air Hotel is a little slice of paradise on a small laid back peaceful island. It is perfectly situated 2min from the ferry and outside of the main road so it’s quiet. My room was clean and spacious. Pool area is really nice too. Staff is friendly and always ready to help

A 3 star hotel? More like a 10 star hotel! 🤩 What an amazing place & incredible staff. The hotel itself is gorgeous - literally every detail is perfect. Amenities are also so great! The staff? What can I say? Probably the friendliest & most professional I’ve ever encountered. They’re always so helpful, smiling & absolutely lovely. 🥰 By far the best hotel I’ve stayed in. Our stay at Bale Sampan was amazing. I only have good things to say. The staff was super friendly and helpful. It started feeling like home very quickly. The staff really made a huge difference, they made us very welcome and comfortable. The room was a good size, and very clean. They decorated the beds with flowers from the property. The food in the restaurant was great. Beach access right across from the property with free sunbeds for guests of the property. The ferry point is about 10 mins walk, and the location is very convenient with lot of cafes and food options.

Indonesia's Laid-back Lombok

A great alternative to busy Bali is lazy Lombok, a more authentic representation for tourists who wish to explore one of Indonesia’s more than 17,000 islands. It is separated from its naughty neighbor by the Lombok Strait to the east and from Sumbawa by the Alas Strait to the west.

Lombok is a typical island paradise of paddy fields, pristine beaches, jungle escapes and mountain retreats. It is largely inhabited by the local Sasak people with a small percentage of Balinese settlers.

Many hotels on Booking.com are centred around the capital of Mataram and the beaches stretching along the north-eastern coastline, including the sweeping bays of Senggigi. Medana Bay is another great northern location for people wanting to visit the nearby Gili Islands, a wonderful snorkeling location and nightlife choice.

Escape the tropical heat in the mountains surrounding Gunung Rinjani, an active volcano where tourists can break in their newly acquired trekking shoes. Other adventures abound on the southern surf beaches of Lombok.

Lombok International Airport is located 33 km south-west from Mataram and services daily flights mainly from Jakarta and Bali. This round-shaped island is approximately 80 km in both directions and offers plenty of variety for a great holiday.

Excellent villa with amazing views across Teluk Aan - amazing sea colours. 10 mins walk to Gerupuk village (or 5 mins scooter) for surfing trips which were excellent to a variety of locations in the bay and suitable for range of skills. Short drive to Kuta Lombok (15 mins) for dinner / more tourist activities - roads are empty and good due to the Moto GP circuit being built nearby - big contrast to Bali! Only about 30 mins from the airport. Villa has 4 double bedrooms, beautiful pool and terrace and open plan living area. We ate in the villa 2 nights - staff cook a great barbecue - the local lobster was outstanding definitely request this! Breakfast also very good - cooked whatever requested. Staff super friendly arranged car, boat trips etc and always on hand to help out.

Great location just south of all the busy bars and restaurants. Still calm and peaceful when you return. Hotel rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic with great options including pastries. The snorkelling stand outside the hotel are great. Friendly team and gave us a great trip. private boat trip over to the coral reef. Then a guided tour with “the turtle man”. Who pointed out loads of turtles. He also took some fantastic pictures of us swimming with them. Highlight of our trip.

The employee all are nice and kind and very helpful, and The pool, the view is gorgeous, the room is good but I was expecting to get a room in front of the pool or at least in the first or middle section of the building, but instead, I got the last room, which didn't provide a full view. Additionally, the room I booked, as per the image, was supposed to have a king-size bed and a queen bed, but what I received was a king-size bed with a single bed.

Fantastic location with the resort restaurant right on the beach. We had breakfast with beach and ocean view almost all to ourselves, and had dinner there to see sun set right on the beach. The bay the hotel/restaurant is beautiful, clean and not very crowded. These are rare in Indonesia. The property is spread across 9 hectares of land with still a lot of natural beauty and rice paddies in the surrounding.

Small island but has everything, the local are very friendly, so many bar and nice restaurants, few places for party as well and of course crystal clear water and white sand beaches are perfect for relax but live music after sunset is my favorite in Gili Trawangan! I just wished that the club would open later than 1am but i guess that’s the local regulations so i get that.

A bustling town with much to explore and many bars and restaurants to choose from. When we come again (and we will) we would like to do more trips exploring the outlying areas. Our main purpose for travel was to attend a wedding at Selong Selo resort (also fabulous with spectacular views) so we didn't do much exploring this time. It was sad to see so much plastic rubbish on roadsides. The infrastructure, at the moment, does not deal with this but efforts are being made.

Gili Air is such a special island. Small, peaceful, and full of good vibes. You can walk everywhere, enjoy sunsets by the beach, and feel like time slows down. One of the highlights for us is Sunny Rose Bungalows and Restaurant. The food there is honestly amazing — fresh, tasty, and beautifully presented. The staff is super friendly and always smiling, which makes you feel at home right away. Whether you go for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, it’s always a good experience. Stayed at tne katamaran hotel, stunning hotel with great food and provided a restful quiet break in stunning surroundings. Both restaurants on site provided great food. The spa was also gorgeous. The entire stay was heavenly! Alu at tne senggigi ferry port organised an amazing day snorkelling at three of the Gili islands. Paradise!

We had a fantastic stay at Gili Meno Mojo Beach Resort.

We had a fantastic stay at Gili Meno Mojo Beach Resort. Our room (Deluxe Beach Front) was well equipped with tea/coffee making facility, drinking water and very efficient air con and a TV. The bed was super comfy and we both had the best nights sleep we’ve had in ages. We could step out of our room onto the beach and the snorkelling (straight off the beach) was amazing, with the greatest diversity of fish species that we’ve ever seen. We could sit in the restaurant area watching turtles poke their heads up through the water whilst enjoying the complimentary afternoon tea. Chriest was so helpful, making sure everything was OK, giving us lots of information about Indonesian life and sorting out our onward travel. Jo and Linjang were also super friendly with always time for a chat. The chef cooked delicious meals……I particularly enjoyed the grilled mahi mahi fish and my husband loved the red fish curry and the breakfasts were lovely but there were other restaurants close by if you chose to eat somewhere else. Altogether a fabulous stay. Thank you Meno Mojo.

The local family who manage Green Haven Homestay are so...

The local family who manage Green Haven Homestay are so welcoming and friendly. They will do almost anything to cater for travellers, for example I am 68 and wouldn’t have been able to do the 6 km walking tour up and down hills and uneven surfaces so they organised a motorbike tour which was great. The tour of the villages was also good and very interesting and informative to see the local market, pottery being made, textile weaving and bamboo weaving. There was a good variety of food and the family dinner was wonderful, so much delicious local food. The accommodation was suitable in a peaceful environment. I really enjoyed my stay.

Selong belanak is a charming location with friendly locals...

Selong belanak is a charming location with friendly locals and great food! Main beach Munah is buzzing with people holidaying and learning to surf With Warungs along the beach you can grab a board or a cold Bintang and enjoy the water Homestays are the way to go but there are also Also beachfront restaurants and resort style places. Beautiful surrounding areas and still quite enough to enjoy local farming I hope it stays this way and foreign resorts do not take over.

Was exhausted after Mt.

Was exhausted after Mt. Rinjani climb and this impacted on my exploration of the wider area, which I would've liked to have done more of. Also despite being officially the 'dry season', the weather was often overcast and rainy. I think had things been slightly different and I had had more time, the experience would have been better.. But still a lovely place that has less tourists than other parts of Indonesia.

Sekotong is not overurn with tourists and all the associated businesses that come with that. Hence it's very quiet for the most. The down side of this is that you always need transport if you want to get to any other facilities or shops, whether that be a car and driver or a motor scooter. Sekotong is also close to the more south western Gilis, which makes for a very quiet visit for snorkelling etc. This is not a party town type of place - so if that's what you are seeking, better go to the more established areas.

Staying in Gili T for 2 days was the best decision of our...

Staying in Gili T for 2 days was the best decision of our Bali trip! The whole vibe of the island is so cozy and calm. There are no cars, you can bicycle around the island or get a scooter. The beaches are beautiful and sunsets on the west side are breathtaking. You can order a drink and relax on beanbags on the beach while watching the most breathtaking sunsets!
