The food was perfect, compliments to the chef. The service staff were very friendly and courteous. Anke was particularly special, she was our waitress on three evenings. She was courteous, funny, friendly and has an incredibly positive charisma. A soul of the house and, from an entrepreneur's point of view, a perfect employee.

Tea, coffee, milk and even cereal and a great little kitchenette. We were very comfortable during our stay. We checked out after our two-night stay to transfer to a different hotel (we would have stayed longer but they were booked!). We were able to store our luggage at the Duo lounge/reception area, and even spend time in their comfortable "quiet area" lounge while waiting for our new hotel to be ready.

Newly renovated during the spring of 2023, Hotel Local 101 is an independent hotel quietly tucked away in the heart of downtown Reykjavik, on a charming street made up of classical Icelandic homes. Helpful and friendly manager and staff, very clean, our second year of staying at this hotel and just as happy with the stay as last time!
