Located next to Hlemmur Square, this hotel is just off Laugavegur, the main shopping street in Reykjavík. It offers a view over the city and Esja Mountain. We had an excellent 4 night stay at Eyja Guldsmeden Hotel. The room was small but very comfortable with everything we needed including supplied toiletries. The hotel lobby is a nicely decorated, relaxing space with tea, coffee and bottles for tap water available free of charge to guests. There is also a bar in the lobby which did happy hour 4pm-7pm. There is free parking outside the door of the hotel which was great as like many others we had rented a car, meaning we didn’t need to worry about it overnight. Reykjavik centre is within walking distance (1km approx) of the hotel so the car wasn’t needed when we were going to the city centre. Finally, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel had a welcoming atmosphere.

I had a fantastic experience at this hotel. The staff went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable. The location was perfect, allowing me to easily explore the area. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the decor added a touch of elegance to the surroundings. The rooms were cozy and well-equipped, providing a peaceful retreat after a day of adventures. This hotel exceeded all expectations. It was in a great location, walking distance from the city centre and close to lots of great restaurants. Spa was wonderful - would recommend having a treatment. Located on the 20th floor of a contemporary glass tower, these stylish penthouse suites are in central Reykjavik and feature panoramic views of the city or sea. Free WiFi is included. Nice suits on the 20th floor with a fantastic view of the ocean. The bed and pillows were very comfy. Breakfast in the room was delicious and too much for us :) A self-service bar with a free coffee/tee is an excellent complimentary. We enjoyed our stay here.
